Top games in South Africa

Odd that TS3 is still number 1. I haven't seen it in shops in ages. Unless they lump TS3 and all its DLC and expansions under The Sims 3, in which case they're skewing the numbers a bit.

That was before they realised it was a waste of money. 1000's pre-ordered in the hopes to be something better than the MoH 2010

Well, after the failure of MoH 2010... I had my reasons not to buy this game or pre-order this until the release of this game. There will only be 1 MoH for me... and that was MoH Allied Assault. Legendary game... still play it at LANs every now and then :)

They were warned.

Indeed. That's a lot of money wasted.

i dont get Sims. apparently millions of other poeple do. i do not understand how so many copies are sold. ive tried playingit but were bored after 5 minutes.

And the Sims 3..... :wtf:

Lol,i kinda want to play it again...

Building houses from scratch and posting them on fan sites was probably my favorite thing to do.

I had around 1k downloads on one of my houses last time i checked (which was probably around January)

I think its great to see the sims on top, it means entry level gaming is still going strong. Its a gateway game

I find it a bit curious that people consider The Sims to be a "girl's" game. Anyone care to explain why? Most of my friends who played it were male, and I also spent a fair bit of time playing it.

We can't exactly argue that gaming should be an all-inclusive hobby for people regardless of sex or gender, then label something like TS3 a girl's game. :p

Probably because most guys used the ''i am buying it for my GF'' excuse when they bought it for themselves :p

Another reason can be because it's more user friendly to girl gamers.

I spend maybe 3 hours max a week on it while my mom spend as much as 8-10 hours a week on it.

Erm... First of all yes its the most user friendly game for girls available as DC stated.... And overall male gamers play games with violence and action. Where as most females don't really like that type of games... Hence the reason they play casual games....

Where do you get your info from that most girls play casual games and most guys play violent games? Are you a girl? If so, can you speak for the entire female gaming demographic? If no to either of those questions, why do you resort to outdated stereotypes?
