Totalbiscuit has terminal cancer

I don't know how many of MyGamers know Totalbiscuit, or the Cynical Brit. He is a Youtube personality, and the most followed (IIRC) curator on Steam. He does eSports commentary, and mostly first impression video's. More here.

He made this announcement earlier, after a cancer scare last year:

Well, I don't know if there is really a right way to tell people this, so I guess here goes. The CT did not come back negative. The cancer in the bowel is gone, but spots have appeared in my liver. They're not operable and there's no cure. Average life expectancy is 2-3 years, though there are outliers that live much longer. I'll be back on chemo in a few weeks, with the goal of pushing it back and keeping it there for as long as possible. I fully intend to be the outlier, the average is this way because most people that get this are old and not strong anymore. Who knows what they'll come up with in the next decade? I intend to beat it for as long as possible. Gonna need some time to process all of this. I don't really feel anything right now. Thanks.

While I have not been his biggest advocate, as I haven't agreed with many of his views on gaming, there is no denying how much he has impacted the gaming industry. I have a huge amount of respect for him, and I'm really sad to hear about this. Really sad day for gaming indeed.

Yeah, i saw the tweet, I like his videos, and the way he criticizes games tend to make a lot of sense to me, my thoughts go out to him, and I hope he will be able to pull through to live out for many many more years to come.

This is where AGDQ comes in... gamers raising funds for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. Assisting in research and development.

Terrible, he has been having major issues for awhile now. He, quite a few times had to cut down on his videos because of medical problems...pretty scary that this turned out to be cancer with a 2-3 years life estimate.

Dear Totalbiscuit http://www.takethistb.com/ Rather awesome.

Another TB twitlonger:
Since the diagnosis we've learned about a lot of promising treatments for this specific set of circumstances. Hearing "yeah the average life expectancy is 2-3 years" from your doctor is like a bombshell going off in your mind. There's a reason why people ask you to sit down before giving you bad news, it's burned into my brain, all the strength disappearing from my limbs, the feeling of having your lifes plans, hopes and dreams shatter in an instant all at once. But you get over it and you prepare for another battle, start to investigate all the options you have, put your faith in science and do everything you can both in terms of personal willpower and your bodies fitness to help those professionals give you the best treatment possible. 10 years ago this would be a swift death sentence, but that's not true anymore and there are plenty of things that can be tried to beat it back and keep beating it back. It'll get me eventually, but isn't that true for everyone? Something's gonna get you eventually. If I have anything to say about it it'll be something else at a grand old age. When I eventually do go out, it'll be like this - http://imgur.com/et0FNxj
