Transferring photos to iPad

Good day all.

Simple question. I am sure many of you have an iPad. But now I am wondering what is your preferred means of transferring files from your PC to the device?

I have tried GoogleDrive but this requires an internet based connection in order to open the files, I would like that the files (photos) reside on the device).

Any suggestions?

Use dropbox you can save the files on the device then just sync them to dropbox and fetch them with the PC

Sounds as though you meaning from iPad -> PC.
I am wanting to go from PC -> iPad.

The whole purpose of this is to get my photos/images onto the iPad and to start building my portfolio on the iPad as the screen and resolution is amazing. I am hoping not to compromise too much in terms of my image quality.

iTunes allows you to sync to a specific folder.

My ipad shows as a device when I connect to my PC so you can also drag and drop between the two.

Agreed, but to keep photo quality you don't want to reduce size etc to much which means that you would only really sync on wireless and not via mobile data.

I know, it's been a god-send for uni so I'm happy to share it though

it can work both ways doesn't matter where the original resides

I would have thought iTunes allows this, I did look but couldn't find anything like that. Maybe I just over-looked it.

Would it matter if the iPad was connected via USB or Wireless?

It wouldnt matter, I just checked which folders to sync with the ipad and it did it. I transfered all my stuff over that way, from pdf's to photos to music

OK cool. Well thanks to everyone for their input. Much appreciated, and tis what I love about the MyG peeps :D

I just plug my Galaxy Tab straight into my laptop and copy over. iPad looks like a bit of a schlep to work with.

There is a setting in itunes somewhere - just dont ask me where - go thru all of them, and you can import the images that way. The only thing I hate about dropbox is when you plug a device in it asks to import even when you have turned that option off - I prefer to manually sync my photos and so forth.

Just use iTunes and in the device settings, tell it to sync with a specific folder (photos tab). Move all the photos that you want on the iPad into the folder. Job done.
