TV Series discussion [NO SPOILERS]

I highly recommend Adam Ruins Everything. It's like the readers digest version of Penn & Teller's Bullshit, but with a bit more comedy.
 
I made it 20'ish mins into the Supergirl pilot episode. I'm sorry but that's way too much cheese and "feminism" for my tolerance levels.

You might just be surprised to realize just how much it resembles The Flash's pilot episode in terms of tone, cheese, and overall formula

What? You haven't watched it yet? Wtf? It is brilliant. It makes you totally forget Ben Affleck ever existed as daredevil. It's dark, gritty and serious.

I expect Jessica Jones (coming out next week) to be equally as dark (if not darker) as this.

Jessica Jones is also going to be great! Im busy with the comics now...

Elektra and The Punisher


I think what this series has done so well so far is having alot of grey between good vs evil. Even Kingpin in Series 1 was amazing to watch, he did not come across as your traditional evil villain...and if it's going to Daredevil vs. the mentioned anti-hero , it will be quite interesting.

Marvel officially announced that Elodie Yung (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) will play Elektra in season two of the series. Described as a “mystery woman from Matt Murdock’s past,” the assassin’s agenda in Hell’s Kitchen is currently unknown, but “her dangerous and exotic ways may be more than Daredevil can handle” come 2016 – especially with Punisher (and Bullseye?) making trouble too.

Today it was officially announced that Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead, Fury) will be joining the Netflix series as Frank Castle a.k.a. The Punisher, making him the first actor to (officially) portray the classic vigilante since Tom Jane and Ray Stevenson’s performances in The Punisher (2004) and Punisher: War Zone (2008), respectively.

Well they are already seriously abusing the parallel universe thing with doppelgangers all over the show (including dr wells returning), so not impossible that flash's father doppelganger can be Zoom... But i doubt it is the same father that was in prison (who is now out).

It is still amusing to me that Barry's father was flash in the old flash series, and them making him flash or zoom in this...

Still very cheap storytelling to do this, reusing characters and bringing everyone back from the dead and all.

I read the writers got their inspiration from "girl with the dragon tattoo", and must say it is very accurate, jessica got exactly same personality as tattoo girl. Series also same pace and theme as the books.
 
I'm loving Jessica Jones so far (watched the first 2 eps). It is pretty much exactly how I expected it would be. Can't wait to watch more tonight.
