UFC 2 Hella expensive

So.... I recently went on Takealot to check out the new PS4 releases.

I came across the all new UFC 2 game. But here is the kicker... It cost a whopping R 1,085!! That's way more expensive than any other PS4 game, even the new releases (such as Tom Clancy's The Division, which costs only R 899). It also way more expensive than on the Playstation Store (R 899 for the standard and R 999 for the delux).

Now I am not saying Takealot is wrong in asking this price, I just want to know what you guys think.

I mean, why is this one game that much more expensive? I initially thought it might be linked to the exchange rate, but then why are the other games not as expensive?

Any thoughts?

It's insane. For me it's been Quantum Break which costs a whopping R1099 on Takealot but then it costs a lot on the XBox store too.

I have no idea why UFC 2 is so expensive but I really hope the price of games get lower again because I will not pay that much for a game.

Nice nick btw! :D

My biggest surprise of em has been Dark Souls 2: Scholar of The First Sin. The thing has been out for a good while now and still goes for R900 minimum, Musica sells for around R1099.

Insane!

The mrs bought me Battlefront in December for Christmas, and she paid R999.00 for it from CNA, when i heard the price i nearly fell off my chair... The way the exchange rate is going i fear this is going to be the norm from now on... Gone are the days where we could get new release games for R700.00

I read an article a few weeks ago saying the price of the PS4 console and remotes is going up in SA, the console by roughly R500.00

It was about R 999 for Need For Speed when it launched November Last year, it's not surprising since the R/$ is climbing and falling constantly. EA seems to be fore fronting the 'new price of games'.

I honestly, can wait a couple of month to pick up a title, I refuse to pay R 1000 for a game.

No I totally agree. I think the R/$ is definitely a deciding factor in the price of physical games.

Probably best to just wait, or pick it up on the PS Store (which should theoretically be cheaper, given that no physical item is actually shipped to South Africa).

Ah well, I am still playing Fallout 4, so I am happy for now :D

I think the price on the PSN store will also go up unfortunately... in my experience the PS Store has often been more expensive than a physical copy...
