"The Kony 2012 campaign fails to make one point clear: Joseph Kony is not in Uganda" Mbabazi stated.

"Uganda is not in conflict. Uganda is a modern, developing country which enjoys peace, stability and security," Mbabazi assured viewers, inviting anyone who doubts it to come and see for themselves, insisting that the Kony 2012 video did not represent the current situation in the east African nation.

And america knew about kony for years. Its all a big shame. Kony is not a threat anymore.

WoW, its quite shocking the the prime minister of Uganda speaks better English than pretty much any political figure in our country :/

Unfortunately some people cant see past Kony himself or the specific details around him and uganda. This campaign is not about Kony, it is about catching African terrorists. They used Kony as an example, to show people that you have to start somewhere.

Its sad that people are trying so hard to play down this campaign. I for one would love to see many more African terrorists put in the spotlight so that people stop denying they exist.

Kony might not be in Uganda, but he does now travel between three weaker African countries with an army in the hundreds. Even though he might no longer command thousands, he still needs to be stopped, otherwise we're going to regret it later on.

The idea they propose of "exposing African terrorists" is a great thing, but there are some issues with the Invisible Children charity organization & Kony 2012:

  1. They won't let their financials be independently audited
  2. They back the UPDF army which has been accused with looting and rape (read)
  3. Only 31% of all the funds they recieve go towards helping people
Also there's the issue of them not actually mentioning in the video that Joseph Kony is no longer in Uganda (and is no longer a threat)

Here's a good read on The Daily What on the issue http://thedailywh.at/2012/03/07/on-kony-2012-2/

Sending money to a nonprofit that wants to muck things up by dousing the flames with fuel is not helping. Want to help? Really want to help? Send your money to nonprofits that are putting more than 31% toward rebuilding the region’s medical and educational infrastructure, so that former child soldiers have something worth coming home to.

Here are just a few of those charities. They all have a sparkling four-star rating from Charity Navigator, and, more importantly, no interest in airdropping American troops armed to the teeth into the middle of a multi-nation tribal war to help one madman catch another.

This Made me giggle.

Jason Russell, co-founder of the charity Invisible Children, is being held in a psychiatric ward until Sunday after reportedly masterbating and running naked through the streets
