except the Ukraine army is so kak. Putin actually has every right to do what he is doing he is backing up the legal government and "protecting" russian speaking people. Its just putin showing his strong arm.

I for one hope russia and england never get into a fight.
 
Obama, must just stfu. Everyone from Estonia to Tajikistan know that Ukraine and all ex-USSR countries are still Russia. They're just allowed to seem the opposite.
 
Putin is just probably just probing. He thinks the West is weak, politicians blowing with the wind don't portray the bet image. He will go in bit by bit, if all the West keeps doing is strongly worded protests he will continue. Once the west does do something he will probably just apologise and keep what he has taken. Otherwise Putin could just question the legality of what Nikita Khrushchev did.

Also when Russia invaded Czechoslovakia they warned the western allies that they would and the west just stuck their heads in the sand and let it happen.

Putin knows that america and their allies won't do anything. Besides what he is doing is legal in a way.

It will however be piss funny if the west does intervene. Russia has no chance whatsoever.
They are a empty shell, nothing like they used to be.
 
the phrase paper tiger comes to mind, but I don't know, in a fight they will be tough, but it'll have to be fast, a war of attrition will kill them

The Ukraine is a sovereign state, not sure what your point is. Who 'allows' them to seem not to be independent?

Well considering I have friends who are Russian, I think I know quite a lot. (also a huge fan of war and war history)
They are not a super power anymore...Those days are long gone.

That said I don't want it to turn into a war, no one wants that..except maybe Putin.

He won't. He is a cold calculating man. He was the head of the kgb. He knows very well if he uses nukes so will america and that won't end well for anyone. It won't be profitable for him.

How is it legal? The Ukraine is sovereign and has every right to overthrow it's government, it's a Ukrainian affair. And Russians in Ukraine are not in danger in anyway, so there's no need to protect anyone, by him taking the Crimean Peninsular he's causing more harm to Russian citizens than if he left it alone.

The West was ready to recognize Ukraine's new sovereignty, Russia went and fucked it up, their puppet is no longer in power.

Russia has been flying propaganda about Russian families being persecuted in Finland and that they need to intervene. They've been buying land all around Finnish military bases over the past few years, watch Russia pull the same stunt it's doing now with Ukraine and Georgia before it.
