Uncapped ADSL prices compared

I think a service comparison should be made also. Just because something is cheaper, doesn't mean it's better.

Not to serve as hard fact, but I did a personal test last year with Axxess, Afrihost and MWEB (4MB uncapped with each ISP for 2 months) and I'm still with MWEB. While on Axxess, my speeds were extremely erratic. With Afrihost I basically got capped @ 30GB, so yeah, not at all uncapped.

Again, this was around Q2 - Q3 last year, so maybe they've gotten better.

Uhm, Openweb doesn't exclusively use IS for its uncapped products. Having that up there might drive people away from trying them, whereas OpenWeb actually uses numerous upstream providers.

Telkom is effing useless!!! I am trying to get ADSL line rental pricing from them, and cannot find this ANYWHERE on their site!!!! Usability failure, stupid fucking government holy assballs jesus fuck fuck fuck!!!!

Can anyone get me a page where the Telkom ADSL and line rental pricing is? I would like to compare how much I am being ass raped for between line rental and 384k circuit and how much I am being deep throated for 1 meg adsl circuit with line rental. IE, no data...

I'm just waiting for 4Mb uncapped prices to drop, ISP and Telkom... Though what's happening at the lower end is great news.

Keoma Wright, OpenWeb CEO, confirmed with MyBroadband that for their uncapped products they use IS only.
 
Hmm, probably changed it then. I used their standard uncapped about 7 months ago and I was on multiple backbones during that time.

I am with axxess 4mb uncapped i usually only hit issues with the speed of the line when i get to about 460GB in the month... Then everything including surfing the net become horrible during office hours. Usually gets better after hours. Think during the day they shape you and at night they let you fly also depends which half of there usuage group you fall.

Was with mweb i couldnl't get a download speed of over 100kb with them was pathetic. Cancelled my account after less than a month. Wanted to try telkoms but its way to costly.

As for the price reductions they for the lower end of the market mainly and the reduction of the 10mbs uncapped. It doesnt affect the 4mbs which most highend users are on.
