OK so now im tired I jummped at the uncapped options and taught woohoo finaly peace
But Afrihost was Crap browsing terrible NZB and torrents sucked so the was a waste , Then Mweb and they seem to be worst than Afrihost if you can belive that , So I said said lets give WA a shot and damn .this hole in my pocket is getting bigger and bigger

I need a straight answer from some one any one
Cheapest /Best value for money ISP and the deal that is the best
I use torrents and NZB (I like my TV series ) and I game (obviously )

I have cancelled with the above except for Mweb gona try to cancel with them tomorrow.

Help Me please Guys.

Like Kyubi said, we're all having the same - I'm getting a maximum of 50kbs on my 512 Mweb line - it was actually faster when I was on 386?! Originally their excuse was that it was throttled by everybody jumping on the bandwagon, but yeah its been a while - they should have something planned by now surely. (And then there was some cable they're supposedly working on)

Well MWEB is dine on my side. I'm getting speeds of 350Kb/s+ on my downloads. Almost during the day it's sitting at 100KB/s so I'm a very happy customer.

You might want to have a look at cybersmart for R324 per month you get :

384 line renatal
unshaped 10 gig cap with unused bandwidth storage of 15 gig
Free weekend usage
bandwidth usage between 01:00 and 08:00 is divided by 5 (eg. 1 gig downloaded = 200 meg towards cap usage)

I've had it for about 3 weeks and I've been able to download 30 gigs and still have 5 gigs left over for the month. Plus its unshaped so its great for gaming.

Well, thats the problem with so called "uncapped" No wonder WA did not jump at the chance to get in on the act.

If you are looking for a decent ISP, that has a really, really good ping and very low latency. Then go for WA. WA just released their titan specials, check them out here These also include a line speed of up to 10mb/s which is really nice.

Plus, there is always Freezone, which includes WAGE and the Steam server.

Plus its unshaped so its great for gaming.
Dont be too sure. G-Connect said their service was unshaped. Must say, I am not convinced and stopped using them.

I get a steady 40kb/s downloading torrents and games off steam.
I'm with Afrihost 384 uncapped. Never had a problem with them.

My MWeb experience has been a very positive one. The only time I've experienced issues is when that major SEACOM issue happened last week. Otherwise, my downloads are running at full speed and the unshaped is kicking in nicely at night.

Well this is the thing everyone is having such varied experience with all the ISP I for one had treble experience with Afrihost but to be honest it was better than Mweb
I like the Titan specials and I think the 15 from WA and 10 local from telkom should do fine

But it seems Im stuck with mweb for a month cause they wont cancel my account

The ISP s fail to realize that we dont mind paying ,but the cost must be justified and we must get value..
Mweb is well I dont know WTF wrong with them
Afrihost is Download 50 gigs and then you get dial up speed

I mean Give us a deal thats worth it and we will pay ...stop shafting us MOFOs

yeah i was waiting for Web africa to come out with their offering. Think i will go with them yosh

My MWEB 512 line ^

If it weren't so fking pathetically funny I'd be the moering right now

That is so bad that I would almost immediately assume a damaged line.

Anyway, I'm on Mweb after trying Axxess and Afrihost. On Mweb I consistently get 350-400kb/s and excellent local and international latency for playing HoN, SC2 and MMOs, so I'm very happy considering the price.

Thats what I've told them - they say they've checked the line and there is nothing wrong with it. So I'm getting someone out to come have a look - as you say it's so bad something has to be wrong. It has it's days when it hits 45mbs maximum, but on average it's about 15-20. Last night was particularly bad

Ok, seeing as uncapped is such a pain in the arse, I think I'll stick to my 4mb/s Telkom line. Even though fast speeds are there I still have to monitor myself - but I don't use that much so it's ok...

Yeah, thats bull. More than likely is a line fault. Look at the latency, either that or its your router. >50miles and you get a latency count of 1710.
