Uncertain about the future of Cell C Control Chat

With the announcement of Cell C's Straight Up Topup plans, I have been wondering whether these will supplant Control Chat, or just add to Cell C's range of contract offerings. I have submitted a number of queries to Cell C, but have not had any response from them.

Do any of you perhaps know what Cell C has in mind?

Thank you

Would you like to elaborate since some of us aren't sure what "Control chat" is exactly??

its one of the packages they offer. R100 a month = R100 airtime and 100 free sms's. Pretty decent package but the phones that come with it are not so great.

Ooops....

Control Chat is a top-up package. In my case, I was overambitious and opted to pay R79 a month for R115 airtime, 100 SMSes and a Samsung Star about two years ago.

@BradBear: I am not too concerned about the handset: it only has to be easy to use, make and receive the odd call, and send and receive SMSes.

If feel the urge to play with Android applications, I can always do so using BlueStacks. :p

Those new 99cents straight up topup packages from Cell C are much better value. Since if you get the cheap R30 one, you will be getting 30 minutes anytime, 30 sms and 30 meg data. Because the controlchat's call charges are more expensive, the new packages are better value. Since you pay 99cents anytime. So if you topup, you will be saving a lot more in the end, even though you get a lot more airtime on the control chat, you can do less with that airtime, compared to the new packages.
