Uncharted 4 Gameplay

Just finished watching the video and all I can say is holy shit, that looks amazing! Cannot wait for this game to come out...

Looks incredible. See they've borrowed some elements of Tomb Raider's reboot, which in turn borrowed nearly everything from the original trilogy xD. The wait until release is going to be torture.

...and somehow Tomb Raider still looks better. I must admit, I'm kinda disappointed Drake's new adventure doesn't look better. Uncharted has always been a benchmark in console gaming graphics and immersion, but this looks like another generic third-person platformer. I also see a hint of Assassin's Creed in there with the foliage rummaging.

Are you for real? Couldn't disagree with you more even if I wanted to. No way in hell does TR look better than this. How you can call this generic blows my mind. Not that we can really judge from a 15 min gameplay demo anyway, but did you not see that grappling hook? Or the animations? Anyway, not looking to start an argument or anything, but I really cannot see where you are coming from with that post. If you really feel that way about the gameplay that was shown then I am speechless.

I was pleasantly surprised by this. I am not a huge fan of Uncharted, I only came into the franchise from 3, but quite enjoyed it and found it to be [-]very[/-] extremely cinematic. This however, just pushes the boundaries. I love how they have deviated from the typical, "kill these people before you may progress" and given a much much more open approach. Almost looks like you would be able to choose, and also the amount of paths/routes that is available to the player. The mocap is exceptional too!

That's okay! XBOX One can have it's timed Tomb Raider exclusive, I will enjoy Uncharted and Tomb Raider.

I watched it again and I'm still disappointed that it doesn't look better. The environments aren't all that detailed, especially the rocks. They look very... Fake and plasticky. The foliage and trees look good, but their placement feels forced to coax you into specific tactics (ala Assassin's Creed). I honestly expected more. The animation isn't lightyears ahead of current games, but I appreciate the physics applied to the satchels and gun straps dangling from Nate.

To each, their own.

I found myself quite surprised by the level of detail. Physics and animation are not bad (some games released this and previous years have poor dated looking animation).
