Unreal Engine 4 is now FREE

How difficult is it to use a program like this?!

using it to create something that works is pretty easy. interface is graphical and you can use blueprints without needing to code in C++. plus there are plenty tuts on youtube.

but using it to make something that you can actually sell is a different matter entirely

LOL I like that analogy, I dont have a wife or kids so it might be something I pay attention to, as long as military b.s. doesnt get in the way...lol

Unity also changed their licensing terms. Personal edition takes over the Free edition and is also completely free plus has all the engine features of the Pro edition! I still like Unity much more than UE4. So this is amazing news. :D

I reckon Unity's success in the game engine field has led Epic to be more aggressive in offering a good deal for developers. Competition is a good thing!

Cool.

Maybe ArchieChoke would be interested.

Thanks watched a bit over the weekend.
First section is very bleh, but good for people learning as it covers, projects, levels, shortcut keys, installing and register.
Second section might be interesting, though I am expecting the typical stuff like event triggers, etc...
Hope they cover concepts like prototyping, Im seriously looking for vids on game prototyping, not the typical prototyping(Like create a FPS game, with maps, score board, etc...). Going to mod some stuff into ARK as a testing ground.
Will watch soon as my net is up.
