Upcoming Kickstarter Gems

It does look bleddy good, BUT... it doesn't seem very joystick friendly, looks to be aimed purely at gamepad and keyboard mouse controls. I guess it's still early days though.

Spot on Beo. They are pretty open about the "arcadey" feel, and say as much in the KS description:
"For us, fun and playability come first and have to fit the type of game. EVERSPACE[emoji769] will not be a space simulation. Arcady controls will test your skills and reflexes without the burden of crazy speeds up to 40,000 km/h, inertia, thrust and anti-thrust.

The controls will be intuitive and optimized for mouse and keyboard in the first place. In fact, we put a lot of effort into this and we believe EVERSPACE[emoji769] has one of the best control schemes since Freelancer. We will support gamepads and joysticks if you unlock the respective stretch goal as it is a lot of work to nail that, too. In any case, no matter what hardware you will be using EVERSPACE[emoji769] will be easy-to-pick-up and play."
I'm going to get my space-sim kicks out of Star Citizen, and my space-blow-shit-up kicks out of this one :)

Saw this at the end of the latest Original Sin 2 kickstarter email:

First Wonder

It's Jetpacks vs Giant in this vibrant, story driven single- and multi-player spiritual successor to MDK & Giants:Citizen Kabuto.

My eyes sort of saw MDK first and then my hands went into auto mode and backed the game.

Well this is looking absolutely fantastic, Wartile.

People like Wyvern and Nimatek should enjoy!

Actually considering backing this, will be my first.

System Shock Kickstarter has started.

lol @ cheesy video, but still funny. I'm backing this.

EDIT: You can download the tech demo on GOG here. Its also on STEAM.

I'm kinda tempted to drop 350 on the Human corpse edition. I've always been a huge fan of the SS series so it would be awesome to be part of the new one.

If I can just figure out how to justify spending R5K on a game to the Mrs.

An update on Divinity: Original Sin 2.

You can get your beta key now, but remember, that beta key is your full version key too, so dont give it out. Also note the STEAM and GoG in blue.

How to Get Access
That's right, as of RIGHT THIS SECOND, a day before it goes into Early Access, you can play Divinity: Original Sin 2! To get your Steam key, just follow the instructions below.

Warning: This is your key for Early Access AND the full game. If you give this key to anyone else, then they'll get the full game at release.

Warning: The game is currently available on Steam only. If you claim a Steam key now you can NOT swap it for a GOG key later. We expect the game will be available on GOG in October.

To get your Steam key, please:

 1. Create an account at/log in to https://www.larianvault.com.
 2. Once logged in, click on the D:OS2 Kickstarter link in the top menu. If you haven’t linked Larian Vault to your Kickstarter account, you’ll be prompted to do so.
 3. Once your accounts are linked, click on the menu item "Your Choices & Input". In the list of rewards, look for the item "Divinity: Original Sin 2 Digital Download" (for some tiers, this reward will be called "Divinity: Original Sin 2 Digital Collector's Edition Download").
 4. Select Steam. Click OK. Then click the link "Available! Claim now!". This will generate your Steam key.
 5. Once you have your key, activate it on Steam as you would any other game (Click "Games" in the toolbar, click "Activate a product on Steam", and follow the instructions given)
 6. Wait patiently for the game to download. (Note: Patience optional.)

There's a couple of interesting games currently on Kickstarter and Fig:

Beautiful Desolation
Made by the South African company The Brotherhood who also made STASIS.

Apocalypse Now
The movie was great and I can just image the kind of game they can make with the material.

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire
Made by Obsidian entertainment. Don't need any more motivation to back than that.

If you're like me and loved the Banner Saga, I see there's a Kickstarter for the third iteration.

Banner Saga 3
The conclusion to the award-winning series of mature, story-driven, turn-based strategy games steeped in Viking culture.
