Should you find your abode being invaded by an unwanted presence (a burglar or general purpose trespasser), what kind of weapons do you have in your bedroom with which you'll defend yourself?

Show and tell will go down well.

Then cable tie handcuffs to keep 'em until either the cops arrive, or I have to let them go because they never show up...
 
I find one of these under my bed works wonders as a deterrent. The problem seems to take care of itself

I have 2 swords that I bought and sharpened as well as a cricket bat and a walking stick.

Well I've got a compound bow with me. Like so.

Its a little dicey in terms of self-defence though & wasn't ever intended as such. I mean it doesn't lack stopping power - people use those to kill buffalo...but its unsuitable for cramped close quarters fighting - like house hallways.

I'd be very wary of confronting an intruder with anything short of an actual gun. Think about it...the crooks have easier access to weapons than you & they're likely not alone. I'd rather be unarmed (and thus be perceived as no threat) than do the "knife to a gunfight" thing.
