Urgent! Looking for the Best Battlefield 3 PC Team to Represent South Africa

Well spotted Fenix_za.

Just to lighten you in. Most of the teams has found out about the Nations Cup for BF3 in the week. They are currently discussing about this on the SGS forums. Seems like there will be a online championship tomorrow 15 Jan to see who gets to represent the South African team in the BF3 Nations Cup.

To all gamers

There seem to have been a number of misconceptions about the "Nations Cup" and the MSSA's involvement in such.

Contrary to some of the posts, the MSSA's position has been consistent throughout, and a number of gamers have contacted me directly to find out the truth.

First let me begin by saying that the MSSA is not against any South African clan from participating in the event mentioned. However, ALL gamers should take note that the phrase "Team South Africa" belongs to the state. It is therefore fraudulent for anyone to claim useage of this phrase without proper accreditation. That is why, the MSSA stated to all who have asked that it is more than happy to see any clan enter such tournament, as long as the phrase "Team South Africa" is not attached thereto. First prize would be that a team could enter as the official South African team, and, again, all who have contacted the MSSA have been advised of such.

Secondly, the MSSA together with MWEB have suggested a number of solutions to the organisers of the "Nations Cup". As soon as we are advised what the organisers are prepared to do, we shall advise all gamers accordingly.

There are a number of lessons to be learnt from this episode. While it is always easy to become a mob, and then blame someone else, it is far better to first try to ascertain the truth. Essentially, we all were caught napping with a championship that starts in January, and where there were only a few gamers who were wide-awake enough to take advantage.

I must thank BFB, ASF, sG, and FiB for their time and trouble in helping to find solutions to this issue.

Best regards

Dear Gamers

I have just been informed by the organisers of the "Nations Cup" that if SA is to enter a team it must be done by 16 January.

This means things must happen very quickly.

Would it be agreeable to the clans if we ran an online championships for BF3 on Sunday, 15 January? The proviso would be that all such clans must have applied for membership and that the winning team represents South Africa in the Nations Cup.

However, that will enable a SOUTH AFRICAN team to officially represent South Africa. While the team cannot be awarded Protea Colours as not all the criteria for such would have been met, it can receive National Federation Colours and will be an official SA team.

If you are kin agreement, would the clan captains please contact me on Skype.

Best regards

Colin

The competition may have been held quickly, but it was not a 'rushed' affair.

All the teams that competed enjoyed the competition.

Yeah pretty sad that only 6 teams knew about this.

Yip. Not sure if this is a true representation of SA, but hey, what's done is done. Good luck to those who won.

If you interested in trying out to represent South Africa in the 2013 Nation's Cup, you need to belong to a clan affiliated to the MSSA.

@fridgevr, it is not politics, it is the way things are done in South Africa.

You may be interested to note that ALL sport and recreation in South Africa is governed by the Sports and Recreation Act.

This Act (of Parliament) makes the national federations the custodians for their own codes.

Thus eSports fall under Mind Sports South Africa.

This is a good thing for gamers as the MSSA is a non-profit association that is run by its member clubs, so, gamers that are keen on 'putting back' are able to do so.

As a non-profit association, the MSSA is not owned by anyone.

Through such accreditation, gamers can enjoy the following benefits:

1. Sports bursaries at university,
2. Accredited provincial colours,
3. Protea colours, and
4. The ability to direct the future of eSports gaming.

Hopefully we will see your clan affiliating to the MSSA.

You start the whole thing by saying its not politics then proceed to explain how political it is???
