How it starts....

Just hand over your old games you don't play anymore for a FREE voucher.. i think that can work :)

“We’re not saying the use of video games causes people to become murderers, but there’s evidence that it causes increases in aggressiveness, fear, anxiety and desensitization about actions of violence,” said director of community services Susan Saucier.

Well, duh. Just a pity their campaign says the exact opposite thing. There are many things which can contribute to all this, such as movies, books, poor education, etc.

Why then focus on only one of them?

Because it makes news, and news brings tourists or at least some attention which brings money.

Indeed. It's also an easier thing to target than parents not educating their children properly.

I don't see how collecting and destroying violent games, CD's, DVD's will reduce violence in the community. They should be looking at their gun laws.

And how exactly will gun laws reduce violence in society?

I call bullshit. This has everything to do with those school shootings and this town is riding the publicity of that.
Besides the fact that this is symbolic and that if parents didn't know what they were buying for their kid (or they did and just didn't care) I don't think that this would draw a large crowd, except those conservative noobs.

Way of the ignorant. Me be the satan in teh pc game ;)

...have these people not burnt down Alexandra? Have they not abolished the medical knowledge written by muslims. List goes on and on.

I will not take them seriously until the burn down every movie theatre in the town, shut down every store that sells DVDs and places a PG13 limit on every TV station.

Can't claim to be stopping violence by only attacking one avenue. You don't stop cancer by only cutting out part of the tumour, you do it properly or not at all.

Its pathetic, rather give the voucher away with new purchases. Encourage a healthy habit instead of replacement, its called balance.

Don't blame the parents who are foolish enough to buy these games for their kids... No No No! Blame the videogames and movies... They're the ones infiltrating our children's minds, making them aggressive and violent! Shame on you VGs.. Shame on you!:p

Get rid of games and receive a free voucher for you and your family, and keep your kids away from their violent inclinations (for a day).:D
