Using eBucks to buy hardware

So I've got a few eBucks saved up and I'm at the 40% reward level. I was hoping that I could use this to get an upgrade, but now after looking through the eBucks store there is like nothing good in the hardware department :( They do have vouchers that you can buy though...

With Kalahari being the only good online retailer... the only interesting thing I see is:

Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4GB for R6100 (they say original price R6900).

Now I can use my eBucks to buy Kalahari vouchers for 40% off and effectively get this card for R3600

I'm just not sure if this is a good card because other sites like RebelTech has three versions of this card for R5100 - R5600

So where does Kalahari get R6900? I'd rather just buy some more tools from Makro or something than get ripped off with the GPU. Discount or no :P

Anyone have any ideas on how to capitalize on that 40% eBucks discount? (They also have Incredible Corruption vouchers but I've never bought hardware from them so I don't know if they're well priced)

I doubt graphics cards are one of their serious sellers so I think the price includes the extra admin for them to sort out a supplier and purchase etc. I'm sure places like rebeltech sell more of those cards than Kalahari so they can also negotiate better terms. Still R3 600 for a card that normally sells for R5 600, that's a great deal.

Now if you'll excuse me while i look at my tiny ebucks balance and cry at my 5% discount level.

Edit: apparently it cheaper at takealot

It really picks up if you actively try to maximize your rewards level. The Roadside Assist is like R5 per month. Don't use ATM's, instead draw @ Checkers. Get your next cell from them. Shop online. And before you know it you're getting 10000 eBucks a month back. Oh and it helps if you're married and share a current account with your spouse. 2X the spending = 2X the ebucks :D

Yeah but that's the only card I've looked at and I dunno if the model is any good. But so far it's my best option it seems. Still waiting for IC to call back with a quote.

The MSI Gaming (the one from Takealot) is a overclocked GTX970 and the cooler on their cards is also quite good, so I wouldn't be concerned with that.

I'm only the 3rd reward level with FNB, and I see they changed the system now. Each month now determines what level you are on, it is not a yearly thing anymore. I have 13k ebucks, which makes that 970 look quite attractive at the moment :3

So, do you draw money at the Checkers before you go to Teazers, or is your wife okay with knowing that you spent your money there?

I see that now. I was wondering how I suddenly made it to 40% :P Was a good month last month. I'd better spend now as I think I'll drop a bracket next month.

Edit: IC just got back to me. Their price for this card is R7700. Dafuq.
