Not even, just because they had Xi3 do some prototypes for them doesn't mean that it will be the Steambox.

But it's based on Piston design mechanics and architecture. Modular motherboard, etc. That's how I understood it when they first started talking Steambox.

Xi3 also announced that Valve had invested in them, though did not disclose a specific dollar amount.

I understand what you're trying to say but they didn't just invest 5$ in it, the thing runs on Linux + its designed to run steam = Major involvement my Valve.

Actually I wouldn't mind a Piston. Granted R10k is a lot to fork out, but it's up-gradable, uses on average less than 50W of power and is ridiculously small.

I believe the Steambox will be cheaper, but I doubt the specs will as impressive as the Xi3...
