Violent incidents caused by video game madness

I don't think I'll be horrified because I already have an idea that it would be super low.. Hence my faith in humanity slowly deteriorating each day..

Sorry to derail again :o

Anyhow, back on topic:

They must stop this BS about games causing violence. If people could think for themselves they would know this is not true. I just love how people always try to shift the blame to something else. Those are the people that need a taai klap, instead of the kids getting their fingers crushed.

I am of that same opinion

The blame has always shifted, back when Rock and Roll came out its was the cause of everything bad that happened, before that the radio, television, the internet, tv shows, movies. I can almost bet you that way back when the first book was published someone somewhere stood up and claimed how it would rot the minds of the young or something.

Yup, people should start focusing on their VALUES first before even thinking to shift the blame!

The sad part to me is, what would the excuse be had this happened say on a rugby field, or a chess game or at the squash club and this kid happed(Afrikaans) the other guys kak for losing and the other guys then reacted and beat this kid up?

The beaten up kid was in the wrong first. Did no one ever teach him to win graciously? I mean wtf? You don't see professional gamers pointing and laughing at their opponents when they win, so why do it online? Why, because you were probably never taught any manners or common decency.

Does this mean that what happened to him is justified? Never. Ja, he probably deserved a smack or two, but this was grotesque violence and completely over the top. I sometimes wish they would bring back corporal punishment. Getting the kak caned out of you was usually a pretty well learned lesson. To me anyways.

Fixed for you.

Something the world is sorely lacking is honor. Back in 01 I use to compete in a Poke mon (dont laugh) TCG league that was held at Canal Walk every friday over the december holidays. If you played a dude/dudette and they beat you or even if you wiped the floor with them there would be this feeling of mutual respect. "Nice game dude." But this is becoming more and more uncomon. Nowadays the avarage player respons with something akin to "You guyz SUCK!". Sad really.
