Vote on the Golden Joystick awards and get a free game

Just a word of caution; this is not an instantaneous process. The support tech I spoke to from GMG advised that it can take up to 24 hours before your votes will register and you can claim your free game. I did receive the code but only about 20 hours after voting.

I also waited a day or so. Now I'm wondering what to do with the Civ 5 key...
 
Yes, it took me a while to get my key. The process is also a bit convoluted.

You need to register on CVG using the same e-mail you use on GMG. Once you've completed your votes, you'll be given a link to redeem the game over on GMG.

That's when the 24-hour wait can kick in.

1st you visit the Voting page: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/joystick/ and you start picking all the votes you like. When done you click on submit vote. This will ask for a regestration on Cumputerandvideogames site with Email and all (Facebook and twitter sign in is optional). Once you submitted the vote it will send you to https://goldenjoysticks.greenmangaming.com/

Here you have to register as well and must make sure you use the same email address as the one you used on the voting page. Once done, it will send you a confirmation email. This will naturally send you to https://goldenjoysticks.greenmangaming.com/no-voted as the vote needs at least 20/24 hours before you become eligible for the game.

Wait 24 hours and go back to your email and click on the link again. This time it will tell you your game code is in the mail. Go to mail, get code and activate in steam.

Edit: I see the voting page is now giving "We're sorry, but due to extremely high demand the voting process is currently not available. Please try again later!" I have a feeling the people that came late to the party might have lost out. Oh well, for them there is always Steamgifts.

Starcraft 2 only appeared once in the various categories. I suppose it isn't new anymore.
 
Big thank you MyG! Got my Civ V key!! Always wanted to give the game a bash but felt a bit hesitant to actually purchase it.
