South Africans have to write all kinds of crap to qualify. Why can't they just adopt the American K12 curriculum or the A-levels of Britain or something?

I totally agree, my parents plan on sending me to Murdoch University in Australia when I matriculate in 2010. If we used a similar education system, it would be a breeze getting in almost anywhere with decent marks! Now because we use a different system, it is a whole lot harder..

Possibly because that would mean having to admit that they slipped up and that
non-Africans may actually have a few worthwhile ideas?

Fact of nature; some people are more equal than others. It pains me to think that people with an IQ half of mine have the same say in running the country.

Then it must pain you to know that people with half the IQ of yours are also running the country :)

Thats the problem with Democracy.

People with Honours degrees in Politics and Economics have the same say as illiterate farm workers in regards to who runs our country.

But thats equality for you...

I agree. Oh well.

I went the 'Myself' party. I wrote my name, drew a little box next to it and made my mark. Haven't received any results thus far but I think I did ok..

Vote Dr Manhattan - If you don't I'll kill you all and destroy the earth [X]

Vote Dr Manhattan - Hanging free for freedom [X]

Vote Dr Manhattan for the naked truth [X]

Thats the problem with Communism.

People with Honours degrees in Politics and Economics have the same salary as illiterate farm workers.

But that's Socialism for you...

Well, actually, its equality again - equality being a fundamental part of socialism as well as democracy

*lol*

You know, all these okes who write random stuff on the ballots etc. ... I have no problem with it - because a spoilt ballot still registers as a vote that did NOT go to the ANC.

Actually it makes their majority more... So you are indirectly helping them get closer to a 2/3 majority.

So in voting for myself I actually voted for the ANC? What have I done!?

No dudes ... allow me to explain:

If 9 of us vote and 6 votes go to the ANC, they get 6/9 = 66.667% of the votes.

If 10 of us vote and 6 votes go to the ANC, while 1 vote is a spoiled ballot - it still counts as a vote (but is accredited to nobody), then the ANC get 6/10 = 60% of the votes.

So one vote, regardless of spoiled ballot or not, robbed the ANC of 6.667%.

So if you want to "stick it to the man" and aren't happy with ANY of the political parties - go and vote. Spoil your ballot and let yourself be counted as the number of voters. Your vote will decrease their percentage of ownership.

Makes you think, doesn't it?
