So I just became the owner of this car yesterday.

Who else owns one? Your opinion on this car?

More importantly does anyone know where i can find a user manual for this car and it's engine? Online or offline.

I think it's funny that you're asking for opinions AFTER you bought it :P

isn't the car pretty much a citi golf with a boot?
if so, you will get loads of opinions....as there are sure to be a lot of ex and current golf mk1 drivers around

Well I made up my mind before I bought it. The car's been well looked after and it's in great condition. So I knew i was getting a good buy. But now I just want to find out everything I can about this specific car. :) Or Mk1 golfs for that matter. Opinions please!

I use to own car like that. Automatic, cream colour. Was not particularly fond of it. 1.6 or 1.8 cant remember also a 1988 model.

Fox's look funny IMO but a major benefit for you would be the abundance of spares available and maintaining it would be dirt cheap ! still if i was in ur shoes i would have gone for the better looking golf !

Well looks aren't everything. Atleast i'm not buying one of these crap ugly new hatchbacks or 'sedan' style cars. This one was nice and cheap, the engine is brand new and it's a 1.6 so it goes faster up hill then down. Except for cornering this car isn't the best. But I'm happy with it, always been more of a older car person then new...

VW Fox 1.6 1988 is my dream, i don't have money to buy a car, and that is the cause i only drive motobyte, ix

Neither do I have the money, luckily I have a father who sponsors me and then I pay him back a little bit each month.
