More than 200,000 people from 140 countries have applied to be the first human settlers on Mars, the group behind the project to colonize the red planet said Monday.

Bas Lansdorp, a Dutch entrepreneur, plans to establish a permanent base on Mars in a mission he hopes will take off in 2022 if he can find the necessary $6 billion.

Look if I didn't have anything to live for I would do it. But I think I would rather join the french foreign legion :p
 
Here's my prob, if you go then it's for the rest of your life and you will most likely end up watching your kids dating each other since your "family" is the only family on the planet. So your retirement will be you watching an incest reality show

They call space the "final frontier", as it's infinite and you'll never be able to clock it and move on to the next frontier...
 
but will they have internet, that was my first question to a friend when we spoke about this

Imagine the latency you would have if you did :p.

Only games you could play are single player offline games and skype wouldn't work too thats if you can get electricity there :D.
 
I would love to go just for 6 months. Take my steam backlog with me and finish all the games on there with no distractions :P But I would die a slow death without internet.

So essentially, marooning yourself in outer space if there were ever any other way to get back? :D

Guys, I think we finally justified that gaming does INDEED make you hostile and murderous! :P
