Wasp: new political party for SA

A new political party, the Workers and Socialist Party (Wasp) will be unveiled on Thursday.

The announcement would be made at press conference in Tshwane, Wasp spokesman Mamatlwe Sebei said in a statement on Wednesday.

He said it was fitting to launch the party on Human Rights Day.

"It reeks of utter hypocrisy for this government to organise events to celebrate Human Rights Day in the wake of Marikana," Sebei said.
 
We have enough idiots trying their luck, we don't need to split the anti-anc vote further
 
eh...I think between the ANC, Cosatu and the Communist party we've got the whole socialist angle covered pretty extensively.

Its all boring anyway...let have a Pirate party instead. Or a Tree party (two of them - one of the hugging variety, one of the herb kind).

This particular party smells like me too syndrome though - they see all the politicians driving in 10 car convoys & gravy-trains and want a piece of that cake. This being ZA...the easiest way is a populist party...and then you end up with a name like WASP. I'm actually surprised they didn't throw in a "revolutionary" in too.

Don't care if they split in 100's, so long the rest of us vote for the DA (biggest opposition party to ANC) i'm happy! :D
