Wow, what a load of shit. I literally felt my IQ decrease as I read through some of the stuff on that site.

This is why Afrikaans has a bad name.
 
Because Afrikaans people are known for using vulgarity, shitty language usage in general and acting like white trash in order to be popular, all of which seems to be the staple stones upon which this website is built.
 
I really don't want an argument over something as idotic as this.

If your referring to music groups
like the antwoord and jack parow that give afrikaans speaking people a bad name that's fine,but don't steriotipe about all afrikaans speaking people.

Not necessarily. Afrikaans people are not inherently any different to any other linguistic group. It's just that a lot of afrikaners seem unable to grasp this and act like trash to get publicity, or in this case, website hits.

(I'm Afrikaans too, btw)

I have to admit that there is a very definite amount of white afrikaans people who are about as deep as a shower. "So tappit soos wat hulle kom". They primarily reside in Danville, Jan Bom straat or Wessies (West Krugersdorp - also lovingly referred to as Appel Park). In the past, the majority of these commoners existed due to their poor surroundings and financial status.

After all, people with actual money don't braai next to a dam for fun whilst playing the latest "kaptein span die seile treffers" from the trunks of their cars. These days, the tide has turned. Being zeff has become "cool", "kitsh" if you will. At least, that is the perception being showcased by the media. The other important factors are that some of the "old school common" people have, unfortunately, bred a new race of young white afrikaans speaking people - que "Die Antwoord". I fear that this circle is never-ending and will result in the demise of the once-great Afrikaans nation.

I myself am a white, Afrikaans-speaking individual. Never a day goes by where I don't feel shame for my own "people". There are many good Afrikaans people left, but the numbers are dwindling. We are being outnumbered by tappit people at an alarming rate. Just look at how many overweight, daft Afrikaners are cruising around in bakkies on the roads and you'll get a clear idea of their numbers. That frightens me. It really does.

But I digress; watkykjy.co.za is meant as a parody. It's MEANT to be as "common", "tappit" and "zef" as possible, because those of us who are NOT that low on the IQ scale find it hilarious to read. Actually, if you look at some of the articles and the way the attitude of these so-called "zef" people are carried across - you'll appreciate how well it's done. That's when you'll realize that the guys and girls posting on that site might have more between the ears than you give them credit for.

In the same breath you might as well go off on a tangent due to www.bruinou.com. People need to take themselves less seriously.

I still agree that the Afrikaans community is destroying itself, the little bit that is left of it. The ugly truth is that there is a genocide on white Afrikaans people happening in the country as we speak. In the last 4 years, more Afrikaans people have been murdered than what the SAfricans lost during their "120 years of struggle". These are mainly white farmers. Good, decent Afrikaans people.

So please, chillax. There are still some decent Afrikaans people left in this country (probably not for long) - so don't cover us all under the same umbrella - yet. Give it another 5 years or so and you'll be 100% right to generalize again.

p.s I think Natasha here (and some other local "artists") might actually be increasing the death rate among Afrikaans people - via suicide. yikes.
