Watch Dogs and the PC launch travesty

I have to say I have yet to experience one crash or bug while playing the Pc version of watch Dogs but maybe I am lucky.
These are my specs.
i5 2500
old ass amd 6850 1 gig card
8 gig ram
I run a mixture of high and medium settings and have locked it to 30 fps.The game performs better than Gta5 on ps3 framerate wise and looks a hell of a lot better. Now I am not saying the performance is outstanding but from what I am Seeing it is quite acceptable considering my Pc specs.I would also like to say that the game is really good but I can understand people's frustrations about not being able to login to Uplay that sucks.

I managed to get some game time in tonight, but even though my game actually runs I've encountered a fair share of bugs along the way. Had to stop playing not only because I need to get some sleep but because the game started dropping frames to the extent that it was becoming unplayable.

I know that Wyzak managed to get into the single-player part of the game and had no problem there, although he initially couldn't get into another players game. That being said, I have deliberately waited for all the smoke to clear and for reviews to be released because I wasn't that confident in what Ubisoft were promising.

As James mentioned in the article, we should steer clear of the serial-sh*tty-game-releasers until they get their act together. To be honest, I don't think that there are enough people that will stop buying such games and this practice will continue.

Love the way you have little to no recourse when you buy a defective game.
You basically have to hope the entire internet is as pissed off as you are so that you can start a civil claim.

I honestly don't see the point of getting any game at release these days - you pay full price, you land up with server issues, have to wait for patches etc. If you don't buy into the hype and the pre-order incentives (which if you honestly look at them are not life-changingly amazing anyway) you actually don't even notice the wait before it goes on sale or even gets bundled later on.

Patience is a virtue that has become rare in an age of instant gratification.

Agree 100% - buying new releases is more a financial risk than anything else.

Think I'll wait a month or two before i grab a copy. I'm running an AMD setup so its not gonna end well for my keyboard with the current bugs.

I mostly agree, but there are some exceptions for me depending on the game. Certain games I'll just get at launch cause I don't want to wait. Witcher 3, Dragon Age 3 and Batman Arkham Knight. Everything else can wait.
Watchdogs I got for free with my display card. If I had to pay for the game, I'd probably be pissed right about now.

Well I don't have this game (hype killed me with the initial launch of Diablo III and I vowed to never pre-order again unless for franchises that I'm in love with i.e. GTA, Far Cry, etc.) however with that said I'm having an absolute blast watching the reactions to this game...it really does seem to be a love it or hate it thing (and what must be some serious plants over at metacritic lol). My least favourite things are watching my fellow PC gamers struggle (because that would have been my platform of choice had I decided to give in to the hype) while my favourite things are watching clips like these:

My friend is still trying to get his AC4 to launch. FarCry 3 also stills has performance issues for me on a more than adequate rig. I just say avoid Ubisoft and especially avoid preordering.
