Watch Dogs official gameplay thread

Woah, good job :D I've only been able to tail someone to 100%, was the guy there? :D

Jip, he was close to a gun store so I waited for him to leave, I ran in and hid behind the counter. I hid there from 20 to 100%. No cameras in the store and I watched him round back and forth across the store window.

I also found stashing a car in the road and then hiding in the traffic jam with the lights on also works, guy just ran past me like 3 times.

Well played sir :D

Just a little tip do not use a motorcycle when tailing someone,it is a dead give away because I have yet to see an npc using one.Started on my forced second play through,I just love this game so much fun stuff to do decent story great combat variation, believable npc's.I just wish the performance lived up to everything else.

Enjoying it so far also ! not far in but i have mostly just been messing around, need to advance the story a bit more now

Some guys are idiots. I'm hacking a player and I'm below him in the tunnels, at 80% he starts shooting and then the police start to chase him. Dumbass, he ran past me and jumped over my car to take the bike, he nearly caught me at 98%. I was so close to getting profiled.

Then one girl profiled me so I ran in a circle around this small house in circles. She got frustrated and started shooting, police get called. I'm still running from her, she's chasing me in circles still and they police are coming. They get there and I'm jumping over the police cars after which they open fire on her, she got killed and I was safe since I was the victim.

haven't had time to play yet i still have a lot to do will get around to it when i'm off again and don't have people over

EDIT: I see my previous post about the patch notes was deleted. Thanks to whomever deleted it, and who didn't bother to let me know.

Hey guys, so the new patch dropped last night. It's tiny in size, only around 40-50MB. But I've already seen some significant improvements on my side. I haven't seen the occasional stutter when moving into a new area since the new patch and I'm running the game at 1600x1200 with the graphical settings recommended by geforce experience.

The other big change that I saw after the patch was the multiplayer. I was able to partake in close to 10 onling tailings and hacks in about 10-15 minutes. My average wait time was probably 10 to 20 seconds, and the longest I had to wait was about a minute.

What is your experience?

PS: My current rig: i7 950, 18GB RAM, 120GB SSD running Win 7, 256GB SSD for my games, MSI GTX 570 OC PE

As for the patch, it made bugger all difference for me. Whether I run it on all low settings @ 720p or high settings @ 1080p, the performance is the same; choppy and inconsistent with wildly fluctuating frame rates. Stuttering problem is not fixed at all.

The chaps over on the Ubisoft forum aren't happy either.

Complaints rolling out over on Reddit.

Plenty of moaning on the Steam forum.

That's a shame I've noticed several improvements after the patch, what are you running it on? Which drivers are you using? Have you used the Geforce experience's optimization?

Hmmm I feel that there has been a slight performance increase on my end but the game suffer's from a memory leak.I don't think it will ever run fine on my card that has 1 Gig vram.Oh well sucks but I sort of expected this sort of performance with my card and it being rather low end.Game still can look really good though even on the setting I am playing it on.

I have a sneaky suspicion that memory leak might be in the nvidia drivers. If you have some time to experiment, roll back to the WHQL driver release (335.54 or something) just before the official watch dogs one (337.88), and see if you see the same thing. The reason I think it might be a driver issue is because my World of Tanks is perfectly playable with a almost constant 60fps for the first 30 minutes to an hour in 337.88, and then it just suddenly slows down to a crawl and becomes completely unplayable. But if I use older drivers this doesn't happen.

This is my GPU http://www.msi.com/product/vga/N570GTX_Twin_Frozr_III_Power_EditionOC.html#hero-specification. It has 1280MB VRAM so not much more than yours.

I have an Amd card but that is a interesting theory I will try that and see what happens.
