Watch Dogs for PC looks "stunning" on high settings, Ubisoft says

The PC version of Ubisoft's upcoming open-world action game Watch Dogs will look "stunning," so long as you're playing at high settings, creative director Jonathan Morin has said on Twitter.

"PC on very high setting is REALLY stunning if you ask me," Morin said, responding to a fan who asked him to compare the PC version with the console versions.

Morin also said the PC version of Watch Dogs will feature "very high" density, meaning the game will be able to handle lots of on-screen characters, vehicles, and physics effects at once.

But can your PC rig run Watch Dogs? Morin revealed the official minimum system requirements for Watch Dogs and they are available below. Unfortunately, the official recommended system requirements have not been announced.

In October, the game's "ultra" specifications leaked, recommending over 8GB of system RAM alongside a Nvidia GTX 670 or Radeon HD 7970 graphics card and an Intel Core i7-3930K or AMD FX-9370 processor. The leak also suggested that you'll need a 64-bit system to run Watch Dogs, though none of this is confirmed.

Official Watch Dogs Minimum PC System Requirements:

Processor: IntelCore 2 Quad Q8400 2.66Ghz or AMDPhenom II X4 940 3.0Ghz
Memory: 6GB RAM
Video card: 1024 VRAM DirectX 11 Shader 5.0
Sound Card: DirectX9
Hard drive: 25 GB

Watch Dogs launches May 27 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. The Wii U version will come sometime later.

There's a Jimquisition on the drama surrounding the discovery that Ubisoft have been padding their trailers and reveals of Watch Dogs and that the game's graphical impressiveness really won't be all that impressive.

I thought "next-gen" was going to try to keep up with PC ;)

I have to be honest and say I don't remember last year's reveal trailers and gameplay vids all too clearly, but I thought the latest trailer still looked pretty awesome. The graphics could probably be better from what we feel like we should be getting from next gen titles, but it looks pretty good to me. I don't get all the criticism it's been getting online.

Oh, I don't mind graphics much at all. My primary concern is gameplay (and Jim touches on this too).

The issue, as Jim also pointed out far more eloquently than I can, is that it boils down to over-hyping a game, making false claims and false advertising which ultimately does more damage to the industry because, in the end, people stop trusting publishers and developers and pre-order less and less.

It's inexcusable and utterly unethical.

Kind of how a felt when I finally played GTA 5, think its a awesome game, but the graphics are no where near what they showed in the screen shots before the release. Leaves a bitter taste.

Well the day has finally come when I can't meet a games minimum requirements  it looks like I'll be playing this next year, when I'm hopefully able to upgrade.
