Watch Dogs ships out 9 million units

Ubisoft has shipped 9 million copies of Watch Dogs, the company reported in its second quarter 2014-2015 financial report [PDF]. In the first quarter of the fiscal year, just three months ago, Ubisoft announced that it had shipped 8 million copies of Watch Dogs.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot called out Watch Dogs specifically in his comments on today's report: "The very strong momentum we saw at the beginning of the fiscal year carried on into the second quarter and enabled us to once again exceed our performance expectations. Ubisoft continued to capitalize on the popularity of new consoles, the successful launch of Watch Dogs, the quality of its back catalog and the considerable growth of the digital segment. Consequently, our operating income and cash flows improved significantly during the period."

During the financial call, Guillemot added that Watch Dogs was on track to ship more than 10 million units by the end of fiscal 2015. Watch Dogs launched in May on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. It's due out for Wii U on November 18.

Got mine on PS4. Seems I'm lucky though, some other guy wants it and is trading me Wolfenstein for it. Score for me.

Personally I just could not get into it. Other people have liked it so to each their own I guess. I really did try to give it a chance, but if I feel I have to force myself to play something, then that game is not for me.

Same with GTA IV back when it came out. Played a bit and never touched it again. Just not for me. Loved Enslaved and Sleeping Dogs though, games that went under the radar for many people. Guess that just because a game moved so many copies doesn't always mean everyone was happy with it.

But you got into GTA 5 hey? I also really struggles with GTA 4...

Haven't played GTA V yet. Will be getting it on PS4 a bit later. First have to finish Aliens, and Raru just delivered First Light as well. When I'm finished with Aliens I've already got a trade lined up for Shadow of Mordor, and then I still have to find time to start Wolfenstein. Dragon Age is also coming out soon. So many games, so little time. And speaking of Sleeping Dogs, I would like to give it a spin on the PS4, but only if the price comes down a bit or I can get it second hand sometime.
