Fair enough, i see your point, but my point was that if they do decide to limit steam downloads for prepaid users, they must give a definitive limit so we know where we are. No random cut-offs i mean. But right now as a prepaid customer, i have access to the steam server so i will use it after all i am paying for it :). Oh well, as bigup said, we'll have to see what happens!

So does that mean that RUSE Beta won't be available from WA steam content server before the Beta expires? :( Damn... how big is the download?
 
so i guess it's only FZ when from WA's account. i thought for the time being int/is server(s) would also be noted as fz. o well asked for cap reinburst :)

they said themselves it would go of as fz for now till the things are sorted... fuck should i go and get the post for you ? :D (really not in the mood to fish through 60+ pages to get that)

I hope that won't be the case :( they said they are in the process of getting the extra 400GB or whatever of stuff. The RUSE Beta is about 2GB. Not fun for a 384KB line lol. I'm gonna give it a go today again and see if it's working.
 
Yay, Just Cause 2 demo is on FZ now, I highly recommend it, its a fairly juicy demo. Wasn't even considering this game, but now I'm pretty amped for it.

My 1GB prepaid account is showing up 360MB of data used, and over 2GB of FZ data used :)
 
my patience just ran dry. I wish help desks / help centres were ran like when I used to work on one... nothing is done or closed till it's properly resolved. any one else suffering from no-help, but cap used instead of FZ ?

true. but there is quite a difference in giving the server a break which we all have and some one closing my ticket 3 times in a row without having the issue resolved. that is what my complaint is about. for the FZ/Steam i can guarantee you that we all are thankful..

Web Africa are a company. Companies do not get "given breaks" if they want our money in return. Perhaps the server should give his wallet a break, instead.

I understand that there may be teething problems, but they can't expect their customers to suck it up and deal with it.
 
Well last week I fully updated TF2 without using any of my cap, I also downloaded the Just Cause 2 demo with no cap usage. So all in all it looks good so far.
 
This service is awesome. One thing I noticed using Webafrica, was that their shaped accounts basically act as unshaped accounts. I always get a low and stable latency. I see people complaining everyday about lag, or line issues or repairs here and there etc. , but with Webafrica I have never felt any of this.
 
Tried using it to download Psychonauts (eventually). Initially I got 25MB freezoned at the beginning but with repeated tries, many suspended downloads and steam resets (following Tarryn's tutorial) I had no further luck. So I sucked up the 3.8GB needed for it. :( Sad when no amount effort could get it to work in my case.
 
well for now uncapped via imagineIPS works wonders with steam, gog and direct2drive.... till fz is sorted.
