Weird mouse problem with the latest ATI drivers

Hi guys,

I've been having this very weird problem since the new ATI Catalyst software came out. When I move my mouse around in the top right corner of the screen I get this weird lag/stutter. It has even made my PC unstable at time where the screen would go black and flicker.

I searched around on the net and saw a few forums where people had the same problem.

It seems that the solution is to revert back to the ATI 10.10 drivers where a fix was made to a similar problem where it would do the same when moving the mouse to the bottom right corner.

I'm going to rollback now and let you know if it works.

If you are having some weird lag/stutter in RTS games while scrolling, maybe check if you don't have this problem. The mouse should lag/stutter even when just on your desktop. I have found that playing HoN or SC II is very difficult with this bug as it stutters everytime you want to scroll in that corner of the screen :/

EDIT: Ok, rolling back to CCC 10.10 indeed solves this problem. So if any of you guys are having the same problem, you know what to do.

Guess we'll just have to wait for a new version of the AMD display drivers to fix this bug in CCC.

I get some serious issues with my mouse cursor on ANY version. I must say I will never buy an Ati card again.

Way to much crap, especially with 3 monitors running eyefinity.

I had a similar problem last year with the 10.11 drivers. I run a dual screen setup and my secondary screen kept refreshing. Went back to 10.10, like you did and the problem was solved. I have been using both the 11.1 and the 11.2 drivers and the problem has gone away.

If you are using Overdrive function, try disabling that in the CCC, I think this solved some ppls problem.

Hope you get sorted soon.

I use overdrive to manually set my fan speed so I can't :/. The 10.10 drivers will have to do for now.

Both Nvidia and AMD have trouble with their drivers. I used to have troubles with my Nvidia card, and now my AMD/ATI is serving well with no problems to speak of. Just saying, don't think you ever really win here - just gotta find the best stable version for your card until the next stable version comes out.

That's it. Especially now that AMD came out with their own drivers. It's still a bit beta-ish, so I think I'll stick wtih 10.10 for now.

MSI Afterburner can do the same for your fan speeds - works with all Ati cards.

Thanks Fivel, I will check it out.

Ok, so it seems that the issue is not with ATI Overdrive but probably with CCC itself. That kinda sucks... So now I have to uninstall CCC just to fix this issue? Sigh..
