So im taking a stroll back to my office from a client this afternoon since its only 3 or so blocks away and in the cbd, as i'm gunning it down the sidewalk at my usual nearly running pace, I notice this guy standing on the sidewalk talking to 4 people standing/leaning on this taxi parked by him, as i approached to pass this guy he sticks out his hand to give me that whole handshake slap thing or stop me im not sure,at the time it seemed to be the whole handshake thing.

Now I don't know this guy at all and a few weeks ago I had a similar experience at the malls entrance ,where some stranger african style shook my hand but noticed someone out the corner of my eye so i just let go of the dudes hand and went under his arm because well i thought it was dodgy and kept going, with this thought in mind i decided screw this 5 guys dont know them and in the cbd,this is not happening so i just kinda go around and over this dudes arm.

So he says something/does something i'm not sure so i stop and turn around, and ask this guy what he wants and that i don't know him ( honestly I have been pretty agitated lately and today was particularly bad so I prob did not come across as very placid), so he kicks me in the Dam foot !!

so again i tell this guy " I don't know you", he rambles something about he does and that I work at some place that he took his phone to.... (now i do IT and every now and then i do simple things on phones for clients that wander into the shop, but again who the hell are you) So i ask what shop ,he gives me some bs name I have never even heard of and i tell him no dude, Things at this point felt very strange I felt threatened and cornered.

So the next thing this guy grabs my !@#$%! R7000 glasses of my face, and I just lose it Scream HEEEYYYY at the top of my lungs at this guy while somehow magician style get my glasses back from his hand and back on my face and walk away.

I swear this dude was lucky because I blacked out there for a seconded,and would happily have broken his neck or thrown him through a shop window...like i said been stressed out lately.

What would you guys have done,ever been in a situation like this before? Im still trying to figure out wth, mistaken identity, mugging attempt, me just being pissed off and rude not sure

That was a weird encounter man. Just be glad you didn't got stabbed or robbed. I had a similar experience in cpt's cbd where a guy took off with my business phone back in 2008. Haaate being in any cbd!

My thoughts - people start causing problems while you're walking through the CBD... run! Better yet, don't walk through the CBD.

Sorry trying to put to much detail into a small amount of space is not my forte it would seem
Basically Some Guy I don't know from a bar of soap, insisted i know him in a somewhat dodgy situation and then grabbed my glasses off my face

Yup my spectacles are nearly R7000 and thats mainly lenses

The lenses with all coatings etc are about 3K but mine would be really thick ,making them thinner means making custom lenses which basically doubles the price

Okay i tweaked it maybe its more understandable now if anyone wants to try reading it again, my friend constantly guns me for my horrible grammar
 
i read it post-update so not sure what the pre-update looked like. but all in all i reckon you should have just sidestepped the dude and carried on running. if you see five dodgy looking dudes in the CBD and they try and stop you, its likely to end badly. not sure if your bravado regarding breaking his neck or throwing him through the window is backed up by years of martial arts training and/or being built like a shit brickhouse, but is it worth getting stabbed or shot over something like this ? :p

I can relate to the glasses my Oakley's are prescription and it's a titanium frame all in all my glasses cost me 6K, And with the altercation if it was 5 guys i would have just kept walking if it was just the one i would have decked him.
 
Actually had a very similar situation recently whereby a guy stopped me in the street and insisted he knows me and that he'd met me at a party at my house the previous night. The more I tried to insist I'd never met him nor had him to my house the more aggravated he got, asking me if I think he's stupid and why I am pretending not to know him. He eventually moved on to asking me for money (which I didn't give) before finally letting me walk away. Either he was very high on something, or there's a clone of me wandering the town D:
 
7k glasses are what i took out of that.

But if your alone in any CBD and a group of people try stop you, its advisable not to stop
