Alright seems legit. How often are you throttled??
I had an MWEB account in the past and there was a point where i could no longer stream youtube at a decent quality. So i decided to rather pack my things and leave.
Friend of mine pointed me towards OPENWEB and so far i've been happy with their service. Only ended up paying R26 more per month for double the speed i had at MWEB.

I have never been able to stream youtube at a decent quality. 360p or bust!

Haven't been throttled yet. I don't usually go over 100 GB per month though. I'll show you tomorrow how they handle that when I can do screenshots

Hey guys; I think it's about time that I acquire some uncapped ADSL for myself.
What do you guys use and what do you recommend that I get?
Thus far I'm looking at the 4MB Afrihost option. So i would like something in that price range as well.
Thanks
Personally I find Telkom Uncapped quite good and cheap at R699 which includes line rental and the account.
Since you will be using Telkom you can get 25% discount off your 4 meg line rental every month so you will only pay like R500+-
Also if you have no router currently they give you a free one and I would choose the Netgear DGN2200.
This for a 4MB? Not bad. I have the DGN 2200 V2, it's a really good piece of hardware.
Yepif you want to also get the 25% discount I can post the steps.
I think you should. A lot of guys here could probably use the info.

I'll also throw in the Telkom bone here. I've been getting really good pings locally and my internet service has been really great, apart from a few hiccups which were mainly Google's fault. On my 4MB line, 1080p Youtube videos buffer quite nicely, 720p runs without a hitch. After doing roughly 150GB this month, things are still fine.
OK, here's how I'm doing at the moment. Here's an explanation of how it works

Get 25% discount on ADSL access from R425/pm to R318/pm (requires to agree to hold ADSL with Telkom for 12 months)
Talk to Telkom Option Centre via
- 10210 (Option 1)
- Enter your number ### ### ####
- Option 2
- Option 5 (cancel/downgrade)
- Option 3 (downgrade / cancel)
- Ask to receive a 25% discount on ADSL by agreeing to a 12-month contract on ADSL access
That's pretty cool, however, I don't like the idea of being stuck with Telkom as an ISP for a whole year. The nice thing these days is if you don't like your ISP, you can easily just jump ship to another one
