Yes, on both counts.
This is not everybody's type of game though. The graphics aren't really the best out there, but the sound (everything from the soundtrack to the voice acting and sound effects) is really, really good. The combat is great as well, very brutal and bloody with a lot of over the top gore. Haven't checked the classics out yet as you have to finish the story to unlock them. I actually got a (asian) copy of the Mega Drive version of Splatterhouse 3 for free today! The dude said he can see that I'm a fan of the series and it was just lying there in his cupboard so he thought he'd give it to me. Awesome!!!
