What are you reading right now?

I've been reading The Golden Age of the Solar Clipper series by Nathan Lowell. There are 6 books in the series, and they are really easy reads. Not much plot, or plot twists. Basically a diary in story form. I just find it nice to read after working all day, it does not require much focus. Currently busy with book 5.

I haven't read any of Brandon Sanderson's books, which I probably should. I love what he did with the last 3 Wheel of Time books, so perhaps when I finish with Nathan Lowell, I should pick up Mistborn. (otherwise I'm going to re-read the Wheel of Time series) :3

His series I have read every single book at least 4 times, and the riftwar saga at least 2 times a year - that is how much I love it. There is even pc games out for it!

My little brother got a photo with Feist and had a few of his books signed. Sorry if that makes you sad...

Even sadder is that the legendary Amanda Palmer (wife of the even-more-legendary Neil Gaiman) was here less than a week ago to play a free show and do a book signing at Rosebank. I missed it :(

Well yes, exactly...its quite a story :P

My sister (who is a massive bookworm and introduced me to Terry Pratchett) started calling me Mort as a nickname...apparently the description of "made entirely of knees" reminded her of me. And coz of my name my brother/friends had been calling me Motta. Then came highschool and my 1st e-mail account (sadly, hotmail). Mottamort was the only combo that worked, after having tried all the other combos of real name etc. From then on, I've discovered its 100% genuinely unique....How many of you guys can say that bout your nicks? :D

And then it just stuck...

Sorry got off-topic. *cough* So I finished 2nd Gunslinger book...its starting to get weird, I won't lie...but I like it!

I've literally just copy/pasted this whole thread and, when I get time, will go through EVERY SINGLE PAGE and list all of these books. Ever since I finished The Wheel of Time, I've kinda just been in purgatory. Loving this thread right now!

Oh good luck with that. By book 5 you will want to kill yourself with all of stuff that goes on. King calls it his Magnum Opus. I call it that series that made me think very bad thoughts.

There are shining parts though. Some enjoy it, I did not.

I won't spoil anything for you further.
 
I just finished well of ascension fro mistborn series and just started book 3 Hero of Ages Sandersonis definitely among my favourites writers
 
Started getting into self help books recently.

Busy with:

Mindfulness in Plain English (Bhante Gunaratana)
The abide guide: Living like a Lebowski.
 
Started the "Trader Tales" by Nathan Lowell and loving the first book. Such a basic idea for a story but the way the books are written just pulls you into this universe and you cannot put it down.

The first time in a long while that I've bought all the books after reading the first 5 chapters of book 1. Can really recommend it!

Yeah it's nice to read, no real plot but just a nice easy read. I read all the way up to Captain's Share, still need to get a hold of Owner's Share.

In the meantime I started with The Mistborn Trilogy by Brandon Sanderson and loving it so far.

[MENTION=2530]Wyvern[/MENTION] do you still need to complete the list in terms of books that fit the themes? I see that not all the lines are populated with books.

Expand on? The no real plot part?

I just meant that the story follows one guy and it is straight forward, you don't have to do any thinking, or remember 200 characters names. There is no overarching plot line or big story twist. It just is what it is, and that is why I like it. I'm not always in the mood for Wheel of Time type epics.
