What are your phobias?

I can't take frogs. Not at all. If I see a frog something happens to my body which I can't explain. I can't even bear to look at one. I know, it's weird :p

Any insects, and I can't kill them because I feel too sorry for them. So I call someone else or use the broom to get them out of the house.

Phobia of all types of creepy crawlies until i touch one, weirdly it goes away when i pick them up.

Another one would be heights,i have had more then my fair share of dreams of family member and myself falling to our death and being helpless.Seeing them falling knowing that they are alive but not being able to do anything.

I also hate dangerous animals,i've seen my share of videos of snakes eating kids and wild predators running away with them.Scary stuff. The fact that a lion can break a bears neck with a single swing of its paw shows just how powerful and scary they are (Or maybe that was a tiger)

Agoraphobia ...... had it for about 20 odd years now. At least it's more controllable than it was in the 90's and doctors looked at you squiff, lol

I have got a very weird phobia. I'm not sure if its recognized as a 'real' phobia yet, but I fear small holes clustered together. They call it..

Whenever I see a small cluster of holes together as shown in the pics above, it feels like something is crawling under my skin and I get freaked the F! out.

I have a severe fear of heights. It is so bad that I get light headed when I climb on a ladder to clean the roof-gutters. I'm a real hoot at places like God's Window.
I also have an issue with rats and, to a lesser extent, mice.

Something that many people don't know is that there is a difference between not liking something, fearing something and having a phobia.
It works like this (and I'm doing this from memory, so don't sue me if I don't get it 100% correct, but the basic idea is sound):

1. Don't like. This is where you will avoid something because you prefer not to have anything to do with it. But when you do come across it, you know how to handle the situation in a calm manner.
Example: Don't like spiders. You see a spider and quickly kill it feeling a cold shivering down your spine.

2. Fear something. Same as above, except, you freak out instead of handle the situation calmly.
Example: You start screaming when you see a spider walking on your leg and somebody else need to come take care of the spider.

3. Phobia: You fear something so much, you would inconvenience yourself to avoid situations where you may come across your fear. When you have to face your fear, you freeze up entirely or become almost catatonic. A phobia is an irrational fear.
Example: You win a vacation in Jamaica, but you rather give the tickets away because you heard there are so huge mofo spiders there.

Not a lot of Swiss cheese in your home, hey?

I have only one... I am incredible freaked out by Crickets... Namely... The Park Town Prawn... This beast of a bug has plagued my JHB life since I was but a small boy... There ability to "not die" is one that has met me with many sleepless nights...
