I honestly haven't experienced anything like that and I've ordered from international stores of various shapes and sizes countless times in the past 10 years. I guess I'm OK with the risk and got comfortable with the idea. :)

It's sometimes a risk you can take. My main issue is shipping, and I have seen first hand how cargo can be treated. Then there is the lovely South African customs that may or may not open your package for further inspection. Lastly it's the warranty and guarantee side of things. Granted I do buy a lot of DVD and Blu-ray titles from the US and UK, they usually arrive undamaged and I one piece. Just not certain I want sensitive computer equipment handled in a way I'm not 100% comfortable with

Is that a decent SSD?

I could get one from Amazon US for about R980. Quite tempted if it's worth it.

URgH!!! I'm still waiting, RAM is en-route from somewhere to the supplier, so I'll hopefully get my kit by the end of the week.
 
Dunno if it counts for this thread, but I just spent the most money I've ever spent on a gift in my life. Bought my SO a lappy for christmas/birthday. was 2k cheaper than the price now, but I'm still gonna feel it. Anyway, felt the need to tell SOMEONE about it, you folks understand. Cyber Monday ftw :p

That's the worst! Will be crossing my fingers for you! I am however still waiting for my Loot Crate. And try get hold of the Post office Parcel Tracking department.....
 
Not exactly a Black Friday deal, but I managed to get the Transcend 2.5" SSD 512GB for R1499, that was on the Takealot Daily Deals this morning :).

That was a really amazing deal. I saw it a bit late though, so was already sold out.
 
Reading here makes me quite sad....

My Black Friday deals was 4 sets of curtains as well as lace, a double seater couch and a carpet. Steam at least got some of my money as I picked up Anti Chamber and AC Black Flag

As for Cyber Monday I got a 5 TB external HD and Wolfenstein New Order.

Needless to say I am now broke and can not wait for payday :(
