What do you do for a living?

You should check out Jimmy Carr's DVD, Telling Jokes. I think it's really your sort of thing.

Yeah he has some quality one liners ...

I lived with a lady in CT who now has 7 cats. She didn't appreciate my line from Jimmy Carr where he said: "Cats have nine lives. Which makes them ideal for experimentation." :D

But yeah - I enjoy one liner comedians like him and Mitch, but it's too scripted. I prefer guys who make a story out of it like Tony Wood, Sean Cullen, Gilbert Godfrey, Richard Pryor etc. ... not to forget arguably the funniest man alive ... Billy Connolly.

I just love Jimmy Carr's bad taste. His Josef Fritzl jokes slayed me.

Billy Connolly does spin a good yarn, though. I'm also a huge fan of Eddie Izzard - that man can talk complete rubbish for two hours and get away with it.

I prefer intellectual humour that not everyone catches VS in your face offsides humour. The fun part is you can be insulting and not everyone will be offended - because they don't get it.

Robin Williams stand-up is a good combination of both styles. The writers of 30Rock do a sterling job of hiding subtle humour in their episodes.
