What do you do for a living?

So seems to be a lot of Software Specialists amongst us. Very awkward to ask, but do you guys know of a vacancy? Friend of mine, working for whom that must not be named (aka SARS) looking for greener pastures

I would have thought that those were the greenest pastures.

There's no such thing as greener pastures. The grass is only greener on the other side because there's more shit lying around. Trust me dude, if you wanna work for anyone besides yourself, the trick is to be at least 70% happy. You'll never have it your way at any company. Well, at least not in this country.

This man speaks the truth

I'm an HR Consultant. Just finished with one employer and starting with an engineering company as a Talent Specialist next week. So bored with it though, there's like no mental stimulation. I'm afraid if I stay in it my brain will atrophy from lack of use before I hit 40. I applied to the uni for a BScCompSci degree, and if I get it I think I'll go for it - Take the plunge and change careers completely.

Got redirected to here from another thread....so I decided to copy and paste (don't shoot me down :D )

Well, I am a student, currently studying IT: Software Development. I hope to become a web developer after obtaining my qualification, or even better, own my own software development company

Right now, talk of the times is DP....luckily I have made DP (not borderline cases at all! ).

After school I studied to become an Exercise Specialist specializing in Pre and post Natal training, Injury recovery training and Powerlifting. It was more a hobby than an occupation even though I still train 2 clients but they are more friends than clients.

There after in 2010 I started a business in the Specialized Cleaning and facility management sector. It has been going well since. Doing a big job for Primi tomorrow so no late night for me

I'm a software developer at a company that contracts to SARS. The "greener pastures" here are financial but certainly not when it comes to free time/social life.

That awkward moment where we probably work at the same company :o

EDIT: To answer the OP, I'm a Software Developer.

what I do for a "living" is tenuous at best as a part-timer at Exclusive books, Else studying Computer Science

I pretend to work and my boss pretends to pay me :D

I work as the HR officer in a construction firm and I have a B.Comm in HRM

I currently work as a manager @ Exclusive Books whilst completing my Degree in Computer Engineering. Afterwords I will be spending at least 2 years working at Denel Land Systems, hopefully more.
