Hullo chaps,
So a few weeks ago my Logitech G602 mouse started acting up - the middle mouse button died. Google search shows this is a common fault with the mouse and it's something covered by the 3 year logitech warranty. I thought no biggie, let me return to Takealot and ask for a replacement.
I bought the mouse for ±R600 on the daily deals last May. Now it's R1443. After they received the item at their warehouse they told me there is no stock of the item and they refunded me the R600, even after a few emails back and forth where I insisted on repair or replacement. They stated the mouse cannot be repaired and there is no stock with no ETA.
Leading up to their response the website showed the item as in stock. When the return was processed, I got an error when landing on the product page on the store.
EXCEPT: When I used the mobi site or when I used incognito mode. Then the product page worked. In normal browser or when logged in I couldn't view the page and when I added the item into my wishlist/cart it gave me the "oops, something went wrong" error page.
I was busy with work so I left the issue for a few days, but now I check again and the item is back in stock. So I email them again asking they explain to me why they were unable to replace the item, as I can clearly see the mouse is available.
I get a short email back from someone else that a new order has been placed and the courier will contact me soon to arrange delivery for a replacement. In my account I see the credit was withdrawn and a new order created. No explanation of why the sudden change or anything.
So ... conspiracy or coincidence? I know airlines use cookies to mess with prices/availability but could our dear Takealot do something similar?
