What game did you just buy? Why?

So we've got a thread for games you are currently playing but this is a bit different in that it's a thread where we can admit our game hording habit share what we have bought recently and briefly state why (e.g. on wishlist and it went on sale, I liked the previews etc.)

I'm thinking it could be interesting to see the reasons people have for buying and what in general motivates us to make a purchase at a particular time.

My most recent purchase: Factorio - I had read a few positive articles on it, tried the demo and really dug it and so because it was my birthday at the time, I bought it. Unusually for me, I bought it at full price and not in a bundle, I think I was just in a mood for a impulse buy.

Dying Light. I've been wanting it for ages and it was finally available at AWX as a second hand game so it was the ideal time to get it.

Dark Souls 3, because I love the series and pushed last week to finish 2

Rodea the sky soldier, its the very last AAA wii title, rare ebay find (for the english pal version atleast, the wii u versions are plentiful though), price is not a factor, hopefully the peeps at customs dont intend to strike soon or they just dont steal wii games like they normally steal games from other consoles.

Just bought the boxed version of GTA V for PC. Only now I realised it does not have a Steam key... So I need to grow a separate friends list...

I bought it not because it is a game I need right now, but it is a game that I deserve. Or something.

Just bought Rocket League - I've been enjoying the free weekend and it's nice to have a fun game to jump into for 15-20min every now and then.

I just bought Battleborn because it's from the Borderlands team and I liked the beta.

Also bought Tales of the Borderlands because Borderlands.

Alien Colonial Marines and Alien vs Predator because they were both R40 on steam last week.

Both awesome, Colonial Marines did not deserve the panning it got.
