What gaming mouse?

Grimspoon

The Hoff
Looking to replace my G5.

Looking at either the G9, Razer Lachesis or the Razer Mamba.

Lachesis apparently is not the nicest feel / takes some time to get used to.

G9 is apparently a bit small, I don't really have huge hands so might be fine.

Mamba is wireless / wired, looks like a sick mouse.

Anyone used the mamba, any thoughts on it?

Try the "R2 Gaming Mouse"

personally i'd say G9, but i'm a logitech freak so take my oppinion with a pinch of salt, slice of lime and a shot of tequila.

as for razer, never could like them, left mouse button kept failing under pressure... MW and MW2 rapid fire pistol shots...

if skeptical, also consider the Roccat Kone, Coolermaster Sentinel or Microsoft Sidewinder X8

I am also a huge Logitech fan, I have a G15, G13, G35 and the G5 so no convincing needed :p

Yeah I like the look of the G9 and of course its logitech, just wonder if I would like the feel. I don't have huge hands so I rate it would be fine, I'm looking for something different.

The Coolermaster Storm sentinel advance(check on take2's site) looks pretty good and getting some pretty good reviews on the net.I am also a Logitech fan and am still very happy with my G5,but I might get that one next.

Cheers

Yeah I am thinking the G9x might just be the way to go.

Only thing confusing me, is I see there is a grey one, is this the only color available for the G9x?

I know the normal G9 was black.

Don't think so, I've seen black ones on the net before. Are the differences between the G9x and G9 that much?

The G9 from what I understand has a slightly square feel in your paw. Dunno if it's to do with hand size or what. I say get a new G5. Still a brilliant mouse in my opinion.

Oh ok, rate I'll be going for the regular G9. Right after this damn CPU

Don't think you can get the G9 anymore Murph. G9x replaced it.

I just read on the logitech forums that all non US G9x's come with a silver and black grip, US version is all black.

Yeah I just checked that too.

Is it the replacement? Then what the fck is Computer Mania on about ?

EDIT

Oh wait. There's the 'x' :p

Why not save yourself some money and play games using a garden-variety Microsoft or Logitech mouse? My Logotech mouse has served me well for years.

Do "gaming mice" give you some slight competative edge when participating in tournaments, or is all marketing guff?

Gaming mice definitely give you an edge, especially if you are playing fast paced online shooters like COD4, MW2 etc.

I would go with the Roccat Kone. Reviews of it have been insane. Google it.

I had a look at the Kone but really doesn't rock my boat, none of their products really do. Not sure why.
