What I learned of SA while on my Holiday

Found much the same. SA can be quite jarring once you've seen societies that are more functional.

Personally I'd stay far away from the middle east though. The mindset at play is completely different - I notice it at work constantly. Especially the crowd from Pakistan/Malaysia and the UAE. Quite disconcerting even on that limited basis so can't imagine living in such a place.

Ironically they probably think the same of me.

The Pakistan people are plenty in UAE, and they are indeed rude. They do most of the Taxi driving though it seems, been to North America, Central America and Europe. And would still prefer UAE to live over any of those. That is to benefit my child being the largest factor

nah, would def do N America or Europe first (and actually I have). It's quite important to be around people that are marginally similar to yourself - else you risk emigrating & then failing to integrate. Happened to a friend of mine...quite ugly. Stuff like lack of potholes isn't going to help when you're miserable because you don't fit into the society.

Central America - F no...similar crime situation but with an added sprinkling of hostage taking for profit...you def won't catch me there with loved ones.

Think you missed where I said the main motivation would be a place to raise my child.
Atlanta for me was nice yeah, but still did not feel safe. France people are rude, and most of Europe it felt that way. The no potholes was an example of a very simple thing which should be in every country. Roads is a very bare basic infrastructure connection the whole country, so if roads can't be maintained how can Public Transport, Telecommunications, Electricity, Water, buildings be maintained?

I am not a social flower. I respect other cultures and religions. So coping with people that are not similar to myself is not an issue at all
