What movie did you last watch thread.

Watched After Earth.......ermagerd what a horrible movie. The acting was so horrible I cringed my way through most of it. They could have cast a mannequin in place of Jayden Smith and the movie would have been much better.

Finally watched Pacific Rim and wow what a let down. Awesome fight scenes but the story and again the acting talent was downright poopish. The british scientist guy was so bad it was actually funny watching his scenes.

I can only imagine Will Smith saying, "Hey, we need to get my kids career off the ground. Why don't we let him take lead on this movie?" (or it was written with this idea in mind). Ya, it was a pretty bad movie.

This movie was the product of a think tank. They took ideas from all over the place (heavy on the Neon Genesis Evangelion). The effects and fights were well done, but the rest was so unoriginal. That, and the actor that played the 'bad guy scientist' drives me up the wall.

Hehe that's the thing with Pacific Rim: if you go in expecting anything more than big robots fighting big monsters, you're going to have a bad time. I went into the cinema expecting nothing more and I loved it.

Don't get me wrong I loved the movie, just wish they would have explored more of the jeagers and had less of the pointless smooshy stuff.

Oh and the fighting point for point to "sync" or whatever was just bad, where is the fancy hardware to scan for that stuff, NO NO, beat each other with sticks like a high school shoving match.

Hehehe I actually quite liked the cheesy bits. Makes me think about bad 90s action movies that were really awesome when you were a kid.
Yeah, I would like to see more of the Jaegers, but we might be in luck with a sequel...which is also being done by del Toro.

A sequel? But all of the jeagers were destroyed and the rift was closed.....wait let me guess the rift opens again and new jeagers are built! YAY!

and how does like 3 choppers carry one of those mechs? and I would have smacked that chick if she let me get my as handed to me and then then decides to tell met there is a gigantic sword in the arm... maybe next time lead with that

Watched Lone Ranger the other night and I have to admit to understanding why it bombed at theaters.
One likable character, Tonto, the rest were flat and one dimensional to the point of being laughable.

One cool prop, Helena Bonham Carter's Ivory Leg
One case of cannibalism, as this scene had no story tie in whatsoever one has to ask if they should have included it in the first place.
I for one can't see parents subjecting their children to cannibalism even when indirectly mentioned and alluded to via imagery.
* Reason being that explaining something like that to a child will have one of two consequences, either they will go out and try to eat other people because you said that people essentially taste like bacon or they will never eat bacon again.

This weekend, if I can stay awake long enough we will try to watch either After Earth (No hope for this one tbh) or White House Down
The latter being a documentary on Bill Clinton as far as the title goes at least :/

White house down, the one with Channing "Puddinface" Tatum? Rather poke my berries with sharp sticks than watch that.
