What movie did you last watch thread.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug in 3D the other day, was pretty bloody awesome movie. Very well done action scenes, worth the tickets.

The Hobbit.

Second time around. First time was 3D HFR and now 3D. Took a mate to watch it and booked online through Ster Kinekor for Cresta. I specifically looked for 2D. Seems quite a few in the movie were there because it was advertised as 2D. Swines!

That aside the story was amazing (again). The 3D was absolutely kak! The picture quality was terrible with the 3D. My friend was absolutely stoked. He was blown away by the special effects and scenery.

Don't you think watching 3D HFR first influenced the way you experienced the normal 3D? I haven't watch the new movie, but I remember watching The Hobbit last year in 3D HFR and I was blown away. Must admit that it was my first 3D HFR movie though.
I watched The Starving Games this morning. Don't know what I expected...was only slightly funny, and it being a spoof movie, the acting was terrible, but it was the perfect movie to watch while feeding my tarantulas...it doesn't require much attention. Don't watch it to 'watch it', rather have it running in the background or on your second screen while doing something else.

...

Good point. Quite possible that it lost the grandeur of the HFR. Really really wanted to see it in 2D. May have to find a reason to go see it again :D

Watched curse of chucky and it was utter sh!t... then to top off our evening we watched the Evil dead...it started out with such promise and then turned to sh!t as well when they tried to make the plot to complicated....

Why hasn't my thread been made a sticky yet :(
Curse of Chucky? is that the new one (2013)? I quite enjoyed it.
Yesterday I watched Fight Club (love that movie) and Ghostbusters (first time I sat through the whole thing, as stupid as I remember).

Lone Survivor with Mark Wahlberg.

Holy flipping cow patty's those Navy Seals okes are freaking hardcore.

Its a must watch!

Watched Don Jon last night, not bad, especially since it's Joseph Gordon-Levitt's first time writing/directing a full movie.

I watched "Lien se Lankstaanskoene".
No, don't run! It's actually a very good local, Afrikaans movie. Very good acting, good story which didn't lack in subtle twists. A solid drama about a teenage girl having to stand up and provide for herself and her brother when her mom is no longer able to. Not something for movie night with the guys, but if the SO feels like a drama you can do much worse. My only complaint is about the ending. Too Hollywood for a movie that is very much local (and realistic, I guess) in every other respect. If not for that, I would have given it an 8, but as it stands...

I rate it a very solid 7/10.

Loved it, since me and many of us could relate a lot of it :P . Short movie, but the length was perfect.

Interesting, I didn't know it was released in South Africa yet?

It wasn't. "Alternative sources" .

Too many, I watched:

That new xmen one 5/10
Superman 6/10
Pacific rim 8/10
Elysium 9/10
Despicable me 1 & 2 9/10
Rush hour 8/10
Planes 7/10

What can I say, its a long flight to Washington
