Just curious to see who still uses XP to play their games?

It's becoming all the more frequent that people on gaming forums complain because many developers are dropping official support for XP, and I find it somewhat strange. XP was a good OS, but it's on the brink of becoming 4 generations behind.

With what 7 offers, I'm surprised that there actually still are people who use XP at all. I know there's the whole argument of 'if it works', but surely you have to move on sometime?

So, what OS do you play on, and why?

I recently started playing Guild Wars again and nearly pissed myself laughing when I read that they were discontinuing support for (and I shit you not) Windows 95, 98 and ME.

In 2012? There are still games that support those?!

People really need to learn to move with the times.

XP
Only planning on upgrading my OS when I get a new PC, which won't be soon unfortunately.

I use xp and win7. Some games like DCOTE just doesn't play well on win7 period. Obviously win7 is my main Gaming OS part my xbox360...

Well one of the big reasons XP is still viable is because of the 360 using what is basically DX9, which of course still works on XP. So pretty much every game released today can run in DX9 mode and only a few bother to implement DX11 features.

Indeed. If it weren't for console hardware I think XP would have stopped being supported long ago.

Win 7 Ultimate 64Bit

Same for me... I keep it on a separate partition though. My work partition is the same OS, but no games.
I initially used Win7 x86 for fear of incompatibility with some games, but when I upgraded my PC and needed to reload Windows, I installed x64 and haven't had any problems with any games.

I can't remember why exactly, but I never liked XP. So as soon as Vista was stable (from SP1), I switched immediately. I still hate it if I get to a computer with XP and I have to do anything on it.

At Home, Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit

At work, Vista Business and XP connected with Input director.

I currently use Win7 64-bit. I use to dual boot XP (gaming - guitar hero "lags" on Win7) and 7 (everything else) but then space became an issue.
