What to do?

Hey guys!

I need some advice here:

My PS3 is giving issues. It's menu loading was slow at first...now it's gotten worse...It appears to be a harddrive thing as videos from the PS3 HDD play jittery. Also, games like Bioshock 2 that installs to the harddrive also jitters, even when there's only one enemy on screen.

So is it a harddrive thing?

I have done the format thing without joy...

Reason for asking is that I phoned Partserve yesterday and today. They offer you a "remanufactured" console as a swopout. Firstly I think that this is BS as my console is just over 2 months old and in this case I do feel it warrants an exchange for a new one, not a remanufactured (or whatever). I am currently in talks with the original retailer about this. Oh, on top of that is the usual "no stock" story also from Partserve's side. Pisses me off a bit as I'm sure the original retailer has stock. Only reason this is causing frustration is because they cant offer you a new console in exchange, only a rehashed one that has to be swopped from Partserve.

Now, I'm figuring that if this process takes long I might as well buy a new HDD and see if that is in fact the probelm here, but I thought I'd ask first.

What dou you guys think?

Symptoms:

Slow loading up of XMB
Videos and games from HDD jitters while playing
