This is my thirst fred so go easy on me. I remember the day like it was yesterday I went to pick up Metal Gear 2 got home all exited started playing the game was amazing.Started with snake somersaulting of a bridge to land on a tanker my mind was amazed played the tanker section thinking this is the best start to a video game ever, ahem you all know what occurred next in rolled Raiden And his sidekick Rose what a twist. What is your moment of madness in video game twists I'm sure there are many.

Could a mod add spoiler alert to thread title.

This thread should have a massive spoiler warning in the title, it has hectic potential to ruin games for people. That's just a suggestion. :)

Basically all the games that had the protagonist lead around by some character and in the end the person who is leading you around is the bad guy.

The one game I can remember, Red Faction. Some guy helped you through the game after going rogue and then near the end he actually goes against you. - really cannot remember his name.

Finding out that the Origami Killer in Heavy Rain is Scott Shelby (highlight text to see the spoiler). The game as a whole contained many plot holes, but this one was nearly game-breaking for me.

yes that was a big surprise to me as well.

Infamous 1 ending. I really didn't see that one coming.

How do you do spoiler tags ?

Yeah, it took me a while to get into infamous 1 but damn that ending made the game worth while :)

Definitely the Stanley Parable with all the endings, I am not going to say anything else to prevent spoilers but this game is worth the time. Trust me.

I hate the plot twists that result in the girl dying. Examples include Aida from Unreal 2 and Aerith from FF7.
When Sephiroth kills Aerith it was a defining moment for me in games. It was the first time one of the characters you played with and had levelled up got killed. Really a wow moment for me.

I need to get back to replaying VII. I've heard good things about the storyline. I never fully understood the FF battle system back in the PS1 days and hated the constant fights so always used to escape unless it wasn't possible. As you can assume I never made it very far into the game due to the lack of leveling up and subsequently blamed the game for being too difficult "whistling:.

I'm playing it at the moment. Totally holds up and the battle system is pretty easy and well documented.

Its hard getting back into old games, everything looks bad compared to the new stuff especially games that relied on story and production values as part of the package. When FF 7 came out it was like another level of awesome the only other game that impressed me like that was MGS 1. I still remember showing my brother MGS 1 and he was amazed but this is when I was still a teenager not a cynical old man like now.:)

Yeah it was all very complex for me to understand back in the 90's (I was only like 8 or something lol). I keep putting it off expecting it will be remade eventually.

It won't, don't worry. You're still safe. I reckon you can get it for pretty cheap at the moment from either Steam or the PSN store.
