What's your favourite music when gaming?

I have a liking for TLO's playlists on Grooveshark, but it lacks some liveliness.. so I'll hear what you guys listen to and update my playlist. :D

Let's have it.. what is your favourite music when pawning noobs? That music that gets you hyped and puts you in The Zone.

Depends on what I play. If I play BF4 for instance I won't listen to any music, but if I play D3 I like to listen to Two Steps from Hell (not everything, I have a few favourite albums). The music goes very well with D3. If you haven't listened to them yet, they are not what you are expecting.

Am I the only one around here that only listens to the game soundtrack?

It irks me to listen to other music while gaming, it feels like I am detracting from the experience by deviating from what the designers intended.

I typically listen to the in-game soundtrack.

For racing (e.g. MW 2012) I would play my own music eventually, as the game's soundtrack eventually becomes repetitive. I never listened to The Run racing music - it did not interest me. If it's not an RPG I will listen to my own collection of music (especially in racing games).

I usually don't listen to music when gaming, because I enjoy the in-game music. But games like Unreal Tournament makes me listen to metal, for Kerbal Space Program I listen to Enya, and for Forza Motorsport I listen to EDM.

I also only listen to the in-game music. It will just feel weird to listen to anything else. But then I also only really play single player games so the music is part of the experience.

I listen to the in-game music.

We used to play other heavy music when playing quake 2 and 3, but those types of games work with it :)

I think that we all can agree that in campaign mode, we listen to the in game music.
But I'm talking about when that expires, like when playing multiplayer or just online.

Multiplayer, single player, I only listen to in-game music. In the case of multiplayer though, I also listen to the sounds of my team-mates hosing themselves.

I tend to listen to Rock renditions of videogame music when playing DOTA/ HON. For everything else I go with the game soundtrack.

I would provide linkage but at work at the moment with no access to the Tubz.

Something along the lines of One Step Closer by Linkin Park or even Bewitched by Frank Sinatra. And if it's like a really violent sort of a game with shooting and all going on, then Eruption by Van Halen is the perfect track.

Its far more immersive for me to just have the ambient environmental sound effects. So I usually mute all music in game except for the Mass Effect games and Assassins Creed games.

I guess I can understand listening to music during online multiplayer but I would never take away from a SP experience by turning down the original music or replacing it with something else. The soundtrack of a new game is sometimes as exciting for me as the game itself. Some games have really great scores.

I listen to the ingame soundtracks exclusively, even during MP. I don't game online often, except for Guild Wars 2. The music in it is wonderful. Jeremy Soule is a master composer!
