Yep. I normally spend anything from 30 to an hour on character gen to try and get my char just right.

Oh hell, don't even get me started. My SO teases me for restarting countless times because each time there's some "minor" detail that just doesn't look right. I drive myself absolutely batshit like that.

I've gotten better at getting my characters "juuuust right" from the start but even then it's pretty touch and go with me.

OCD FTW!

This is even worse in MMOs where you can do a lot of fine-tuning.

Like noses and lips. Noses have to be JUST RIGHT--I don't like an arch or for it too be wide or too long. It has to "look right" from the front and from the sides. And lips can't protrude like some botoxed-up bimbo. Cannot stand that. Must. Have. PERFECTION.

This was a long time ago - there was some bug that caused some avatars' faces to not show.
These 2 people on the forum had a real funny story behind em... but I digress...

I always go for the 80's glam rock look.
Saints Row 2 has the most powerful character creator I've ever seen, haven't seen SR 3's yet.

Champions Online had me busy for well over an hour to perfect my dude. I think the fact that you choose your costume and designs from the start added to it.

Heh. When I started Aion I spent anything between 45 - 90 minutes getting my characters perfect. Keeping in mind that near launch Aion disconnected you automatically after 30 minutes in the character creation panel - I was using screenshots to keep my settings right :D

I'm faster now ... but I still get a lot of compliments on my characters sometimes. Usually because I don't give them HUGE knockers (dunno why, but lots of guys do that :p )

Wow, personally i have given up with character creators... I spend an hour on a character and then i don't even like them in the end....
 
Lucky for me I can get my characters mostly looking right quite quickly, but its the armor which makes them look ugly sometimes in WoW
